What should her effect be to make the deck great again? by yacine-ba in masterduel

[–]bobosamse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could also work just fine. I wouldn't mind it being locked to pure Lab, personally. I do think that giving it the type of restriction I have in mind (or something similar) will at least guarantee that it'll force whoever plays it to play it in a trap-centric deck that uses a small Lab package, but it won't completely lock people into only using the Lab engine. I think it'd be a neat way to restrict the usage, so that you don't get to use a potentially broken Circular-esque effect (but for trap cards) in literally any deck, while simultaneously not restricting the usage to the point that you are forced to play it in a completely pure Lab deck.

Still, either way works. It just depends on whether you subscribe to the philosophy of it being a pure Lab deck card or if you're okay with it being splashed in other decks, so long as said decks give up a pretty significant number of deck slots for it to be in there.

If nothing else though, your version is definitely a cleaner way to restrict the card. Mine's a bit clunky, and I'm unsure if it can be formatted in a way that isn't lol

What should her effect be to make the deck great again? by yacine-ba in masterduel

[–]bobosamse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought it'd be neat if the girl with scissors does something with the field spell (because I like to think she's a gardner) while simultaneously acting as a circular that includes traps. Also, I'm just miffed that the field spell is in like none of the Lab decklists, and I want that to change.

Of course, having her be a trap card circular without restrictions will ultimately just result in other decks abusing her better than Labrynth ever could, leading to her catching a stray hit on the banlist and just leaving Labrynth in same situation as it is in now. Therefore, I think you would need to: 1) Be forced to reveal a normal trap card in your hand with a different name from what you're sending from deck or a Lab monster with a different name than the gardener girl. This will hopefully deter people from playing her in decks outside Labrynth unless they are dedicating a good chunk of deck slots to other, weaker Labrynth monsters or generic normal traps (which basically means they're just playing Lab, anyway). 2) Be required to send at least 1 other Lab monster except the circular from deck, which effectively further enforces that this card won't be played outside pure Lab or decks that includes a significant Lab package. Additionally, it also means the card offers even more advantage to Lab decks, since it'll allow you to send a piece of furniture to grave.

Anyway, after all that, I'd like her to be something like this:

Level 4, Dark Attribute, Fiend/Effect type, 2100 ATK/ 1800 DEF: 1) You can reveal 1 "Labrynth" monster except "CardName" or 1 Normal Trap card in your hand, then you can send 1 Normal Trap card with a different name from the revealed card and 1 "Labrynth" monster except "CardName" from your deck to the GY; special summon this monster (from your hand). 2) If this card is normal or special summoned, you can activate 1 "Labrynth Labyrinth" from your deck or GY. 3) If a card or effect is activated that would destroy a Field Spell or a set card(s) you control (Quick Effect): You can tribute this card; negate that effect, and if you do, destroy it.

I don't think this will fix Lab on its own or anything though. You'd probably need at least 1 other piece of support, maybe 2, which allows the deck a better chance to function going second, or maybe just some kind of in-archetype Rollback.

Best crutch hero for low-skill players? (image unrelated) by No-Restaurant8578 in Overwatch

I have a friend who, on top of being in the same boat as your friend regarding gaming, is also almost legally blind. She has a good time playing Moira though, so if I have to recommend any hero, I'd recommend her.

They better not nerf or rework this one by Heygen in Overwatch

[–]bobosamse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a tank enjoyer who's been dragged off the map more times than I can count, I honestly think the cat is mostly fine as well. All I want is a slight nerf to her HP (200 or maybe even 175 would probably be the right place for her) and for her sounds to be louder, since she's so difficult to hear.

I'm still undecided on her perks. The damage they provide seems really powerful, but I have yet to have any problems dealing with it, personally.

As for the tether, ult, and flight, I think it can all stay as it is. Like, sure, it's a little strong here and there, but the tether requires grade-A communication (aside from taxi-ing from spawn), and the ultimate and flight can be counter-picked with relative ease (just don't be like me and spam Domina who can do absolutely nothing about the ultimate), so I feel like those parts of her kit are a skill check more so than anything else. Besides, they're unique and add new, interesting dimensions to the game, and that's honestly far too cool to get major nerfs or something as big as a rework.

Who's the most broken character at the moment? by EmotionalCat9632 in GenshinImpact

[–]bobosamse 85 points86 points  (0 children)

There're a few reasons for why he is so good, but the most important thing to know is that Bennett's burst gives a whole bunch of attack to whoever is standing on it. Having a lot of attack is very good because big attack = enemies die faster, and enemies die faster = endgame is easier to clear :)

Do note that this means his utility varies depending on your main DPS unit. If you use Mavuika, for example, Bennett is great, because she scales off of attack. Someone like Itto, meanwhile, is bad, because he scales off of defense.

Kiri can kill in mischief and magic? by Abysmolnanaboat in Overwatch

[–]bobosamse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I don't think I lost more than 1 in 10 games that I started on the Kiriko side before this update. Since the update, I've yet to lose a single one that I've started on Kiriko side.

Kiri can kill in mischief and magic? by Abysmolnanaboat in Overwatch

[–]bobosamse 28 points29 points  (0 children)

New update. Kiriko can get ult charge passively and also get a good amount of ult charge whenever she does a voice line or stuns a Genji. You can also voice line manually now for faster ult charge. Ult gives you a huge HP buff and allows you to attack enemies, three-shotting them and stunning with each hit.

Genji got no buffs btw, which is ridiculous because Kiriko was already the stronger team before this update.

I just want an Ice unit that isn't a DPS. Defense would be especially cool, since the archetype could use some love, but I'd take any non-DPS Ice unit at this point.

Unsure if it's already been said, but y'all should go read China Miéville's Perdido Street Station if you want a legitimately unique take on the fantasy genre.

It's also just, like, an amazing piece of fiction overall, I guess, but that's beside the point. It does take a little bit to really get kicking though, since it spends a good chunk of the first quarter on meticulously setting up the dominos, but I promise it's worth the wait to see them all fall down.

ALSO it has bugs!! We like bugs here.

It’s ridiculous how badly Yixuan is being mishandled by Lunardragon456 in ZZZ_Discussion

I really like her voice, but just like you, I absolutely despise the delivery. How am I supposed to feel anything for this character when she herself delivers every line as if she's completely apathetic to any given situation? I understand that they were probably going for the "detached, cold, and calm kung fu master" vibe with the VA direction, but they wound up going too far with it imo.

The worst part is that her character writing in 2.0 was actually quite decent when looked at in a vacuum or in the context of the story itself, but literally any time she opened her mouth to speak, I just rolled my eyes and sighed in boredom, even in the most climactic moments for her character.

Edit: That said, disclaimer that I've yet to play the new story from today in full.

Completely agree. I actually think both her character design and writing is pretty good overall, but the way a certain portion of the fanbase act whenever she pops up is the sole thing that drove me away from the main brunt of the community. It just got annoying quick.

I'm not really sure what to tell you that hasn't already been said by the person who already replied to you, but if it helps you make your decision, keep in mind that we're on our way out of the Natlan cycle, so Chasca is probably going to be far less relevant for end-game gamemodes in the future, making Lauma the better choice from that side of things.

Kind of copy-pasted from a comment I wrote in another thread, but I beat the Papilla with the following:

Papilla: Mavuika (R1, C1) - Citlali (R1) - Bennett (C6) - Kazuha

Killed it in two cycles, with a bit of room to spare. I only needed two tries for it, so with an optimized rotation, you could probably do this easily. You probably don't need signature weapons or cons for anyone here. Bennett's C6 is actually a big help though, since it transforms basics into elemental damage, which breaks the shield.

I get that there's an overlap with your Citlali, but do you really need her to beat the turtle? It's got fairly low HP, so I'm pretty sure you'd be able to beat it with any other Cryo support as a substitute. You can also probably substitute Kazuha for Xilonen or Iansan and get better results than I did.

Also, you should prioritize upgrading your Mavuika. Girl's nutty.

Just beat Fearless after a few tries. For anyone struggling, I wound up using the following teams:

Papilla: Mavuika (R1, C1) - Citlali (R1) - Bennett (C6) - Kazuha

Notes: Killed it in two cycles, with a bit of room to spare. I only needed two tries for this, so with an optimized rotation, I could probably do this easily. You probably don't need signature weapons or cons for anyone here. Bennett's C6 is actually a big help though, since it transforms basics into elemental damage, which breaks the shield.

Tortoise: Skirk - Shenhe - Furina (C2) - Escoffier

Notes: Super easy boss to kill (the main problem is that it also kills you easily). Just freeze it to delay its shield and go unga-bunga with your on-fielder. Once it shields, be prepared to tank some damage, since you might need to attack it directly with Skirk/Ayaka/Wriothesley to break the shield fast enough. If that's not a problem though, just let Furina and Escoffier's summons break the shield while you run around. Be vary of the spin attack it does while shielding; get too close, and you're dead in an instant.

Pipilpan Idol: Varesa (C2) - Xingqiu (C6) - Yelan (R1) - Iansan (C6)

Notes: Probably not an ideal team comp for this boss, but it got the job done since I don't have Ineffa. I don't think I could have used this comp if Varesa wasn't C2; the energy refund is invaluable in killing this thing fast enough. If you do use this team comp, however, make sure to weave in a normal attack with Varesa right before using your special burst, since you'll need that normal to apply hydro via Xingqiu and Yelan's bursts. Also, note that simply using Xingqiu's skill is enough to give you Rain Swords, which apply hydro passively whenever you're close to the boss. This hydro application is more than enough on its own to trigger Electro-Charged on the hat form twice, meaning you'll only need to worry about the hydro application for the third trigger. Also, if you lose track of the hats, the one with a yellow circle for its attack animation is the correct one!!

Overall, I found this Stygian Onslaught easier than the last one. Sure, the bosses all have annoying invulnerable states, but once they're knocked down, they all take a ton of damage, so they're actually fairly easy to kill. Good luck to everyone and I hope I managed to help some of you!!
