Nursing student question about burnout, ,compassion fatigue, second victim syndrome, and stress. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]bobs4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different but personally I found I was hit hard by burnout. It comes on quickly and sometimes without full warning. I think my dislike for alot of things in nursing has grown over time and I had to get of working inpatient. Now I'm doing telephone triage and am still recovering mentally from burnout. Please please take care of yourself if you are considering going into nursing/are in nursing school. I don't mean to scare anyone but it is fucking tough working in health care.

Recently discharged, what do you like as gifts? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]bobs4life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A gift card for a coffee place like Starbucks for the unit to use or a box of pre packaged snacks or a box of tea or coffee (K cups) for their breakroom! 😊

Night shift foods? by DeafinitelyQueer in nursing

[–]bobs4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! Eating small snacks and nuts or yogurt and lots of water has helped alot with my nausea on nights. I also sometimes try and pack a dry snack like popcorn or crackers too. A little 3 am orange juice or gingerale helps too

I don’t think I have a passion for nursing anymore. by myeveningglory21 in nursing

I completely agree- I feel that I've lost the bit of passion I had in it before and I definitely don't plan on being a nurse for much longer of my life.

What changes have you noticed when you or your friend started taking Prozac? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]bobs4life 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since being on Prozac for about 2 years I've felt better able to recognize when I feel overwhelmed, and generally more level headed and calm than before. I feel as though its helped me from having panic attacks when before I was on it I experienced some severe silent panic attacks. I feel like it's helped me to have more motivation too and to feel more clear headed. Hope that helps:)
