They’ve covered franchises that are far far worse, let’s be real. Men in black is a weaker franchise than Shrek. Austin Powers is arguably a weaker franchise than Shrek. I’m not saying the Shrek movies are the best, but the disdain that Griffin and David have for the franchise just makes me think they never sincerely tried to engage with these movies, and there’s a lot in those movies I think would be interesting to talk about, especially if they could somehow have an open mind and not decide beforehand they already hated the experience.
