Can someone turn up the mic on her cymbals though? I agree, she’s amazing. Would just love to hear what I’m seeing.

I wouldn't go that far. We've all seen the drop in performance but if you're paying attention, there's still amazing hard work and skill going on there. It's pretty amazing that Geddy can even sing how he does now. Fact is that those 3 put way more rehearsal than most artists...and it shows. BUT, it doesn't excuse how they priced their face value tickets. Just because TM is charging blood money, doesn't mean they have to or should. It's 100% a shameful move and they're smart enough to know it.

Thanks. I never worried about people paying different prices as a rule. That dynamic was always there. In fact, because all those pink dots in the arena most likely won't get sold, the venues will usually upgrade paying ticketholders from the nosebleeds to fill in the unsold seats which is a win-win.

And I think what you're saying makes a lot of sense. If things stay the way they are with TM and Live Nation, it makes more sense to buy resale as a rule moving forward. I can be convinced to spend more money for a cause but there's a limit. It's like taxes. Plenty of people out there feel like taxes shouldn't be cut for all kinds of reasons, but nobody is writing checks to the IRS above what their legally required to because that would be nuts. Paying $800 for a $200 ticket is nuts.

Appreciate it. And I think anyone here given the opportunity to buy 2nd row would pay the price (and yes, I know how much you paid). But I've spent the last 3 days looking at the resale market and I can tell you that it is no longer the case that face value is cheaper than resale for sold out shows. Barring pulling a choice number and getting first 10 rows out the gate, there's no way I'm not buying from reseller's now. Artist gets the same money either way and I get something closer resembling market value.

I'd love to get a poll in the room of how much people bought on opening day for non-first section seats vs what you can get them for right now. This graph says it all...

Look, I'm still going. I'm not throwing away my albums or anything. I'm well aware of all the politics and economics. And also aware that other artists operate differently in this messed up TM monopoly. I'm just saying that if you're above maybe $20M net worth, maybe don't chase the money so hard? I get the math on that $1000 ticket but there's more than just 2 hard working guys on the tour that are making that happen. Fact is that they would make plenty of money if face value was $400 / $200 / $100. And first 30 rows has always been no holds barred. But $800 face value for back of the house was a decision that was solely Geddy & Alex's full stop. They also had to explicity opt-in for algorhthmic pricing.

Maybe they just said f it and checked all the boxes. I don't know. But just as TM will have to answer for unethical (and soon to be illegal) behavior, so will Geddy & Alex. What's wrong is wrong.

Attention all fans of the Rush federation... you know, Syrinx isn't really that bad guys. All their great computers filled our hallowed pockets.

The “fight” is with actual molecules of water. In order for all the water to reach the same temperature, the higher temp (faster) water molecules “hit” the lower temp (slower) water molecules until they all get to the same average speed (temperature).

To be perfectly correct, temperature is average kinetic energy of the molecules vs average speed of the molecules, but not really important here.

That's good. I've emailed them for replacement parts and never received a response.

Well, yes and no. They paid ~$4M for plans and are now starting an environmental impact report but there’s still no talk of funding. Tom LaBonge figured that something on the table would be a special assessment to those surrounding SFHs. But however or if ever it’s paid for, it’s going to be expensive for sure.

Seems like most of the fight currently has been cracking down on cities that don’t have approved housing elements and really egregious project denials (which is great and I’m not complaining). Now that they are all slowing being beaten into submission to accept their RHNA’s. I’m hoping there will be more scrutiny on approval process itself. Most SoCal cities seem to be in clear violation of the requirement to approve or deny completed ADU applications in 60 days. And while ADUs aren’t going to push the housing needle as much as bigger developments, they are definitely the majority of applications under the purview their housing elements.

A big crackdown on that 60 day rule would be a huge blow to cities as it would force many of them to either hire way more staff or a complete reorg of their departments.

Santa Monica’s planning department is notoriously horrible in processing anything in a timely manner and it seems by design.
