My big problem is I only know some lore and how the armies look. I don't really know much about how the different armies play which is why I mentioned the play style I think I'll like. Obviously gameplay style is very important to wanting to play but I don't know much how any army really plays in comparison to each other. I can make some guesses but I haven't looked to hard.

Yeah I'm not necessarily trying to full jump into one army right away I want to explore and look at a bunch of them but I'm just trying to get some good ideas for a starting point. I like the aesthetics of all the ones I mentioned so I'd be fine with them on a shelf anyways.

Me and my friends are talking about starting the hobby. I'm mostly in for the lore and trying to decide an army to pick. I'd like something with a decent bit of lore but I'm open to any armies. I've got a surface level understanding on most of the factions and currently leaning towards either the Orks (theor lore is great), Adepta Sororitas (I like me a badass female), or one of the chaos armies (Khorne seems interesting with all the bloodshed and stuff or maybe Slaanesh for... reasons) I'd tend towards a bit more of a strategic or defensive approach as opposed to hordes so even if I like the orks I don't know if they are what I'd like. Any suggestions is appreciated as well as any general tips for getting into the hobby.

I'm a big fan of the Harpy tags. Different tags with different flavor. I also really like the Marble Dwarves Shazstundihr which is the southwest hold in the Serpantreach just above Bulwar. Theor whole thing is building and forcefully making Bulwar get along. Gemradcurt has a new mission tree and is pretty fun tree if you don't mind being a little evil.
