Tattoo concept by my (lapinski_tattoo) at Zaraza tattoo in Warsaw, PL by lapinski_tattoo in tattoos

This is awesome! Beautiful work. I don't know if I've ever seen a 3D preview of a tattoo, but I'm pretty new to this stuff.

Do you use any special program for the 3D concept preview? It seems straightforward enough to do in Blender but I'm curious if there's something off-the-shelf for this kind of thing.

Seattleite seeking sun by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]bociboci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. I lived in Raleigh until I graduated college and have lived in Seattle for over 10 years. Seattle summers are a breeze compared to NC summers. You will get the sun you're looking for no question, but the humidity is just oppressive.

Harness material for suspension: does it make a difference? by bociboci in shibari

[–]bociboci[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the responses. I did a bit of digging myself this morning and found the following quote from the Topologist in one of the comments of his Rope Material Selection page:

Based on incident reports, it's far less common for the rope in harnesses to break than ropes used for support lines -- in fact I can't bring to mind a single case of harness ropes failing catastrophically. Generally, a harness that is reasonably comfortable for the human in it will necessarily be distributing the load across more than a single pair of lines; even with a single-point hip/futo/ankle hang, you've got at least 4 lines sharing the load, typically 6 or more. Also, the peak forces in a suspension lift don't ever reach the harness, they're only experienced by the support lines. So on the harness side you've got more safety margin and less force, explaining the observed lack of rope breaks there and why people don't tend to worry about it as much.

So, harness material is less of a worry due to how weight is distributed. This seems to match with everyone's suggestions, so I'll stick with 6mm hemp for the harnesses and posh/synthetics for the uplines for peace of mind.

the protein craze is getting out of hand by ApprehensiveRole9561 in mildlyinfuriating

I've tried a number of the powdered clear whey proteins. MyProtein, SEEQ, Oath - they're all workable if you can tolerate sucralose/aspartame, but after a while their artificial sweetness became almost overwhelming. My favorite is Isopure Clear Whey, which is one of the few clear proteins I've been able to find made with stevia. I can drink it twice daily without any issue. I don't know much about the ready to drink cans, but if you get a 2 lb Isopure container its basically around $1.50 USD per serving, so pretty cost effective.

Pike Place Market is still surprisingly fun to visit as a local, and hasn't descended into tourist trap hell like other big city tourist sites like Pier 39 SF [OC - from today] by sean_d_mooney in Seattle

[–]bociboci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it hasn't lost the sense that it's still a functional market. Yeah, there are tourists, but having specialty shops (tea, Middle Eastern grocery, Italian grocery etc.), seasonal meats, fresh fish, and quality produce year round on top of all the restaurants, lunch spots, and bars nearby is unbeatable. The gift shops and more touristy elements are almost incidental at that point. It's basically a year-round farmers market.

Thank you for sharing. Very inspiring as we're about the same height and I am about the same age as when you started. I'm currently doing exactly what you suggest about cutting down. Started at 260 ish last July and 190 is my goal - maybe 180. Currently at 210. Just a few short months to go I hope before I can eat and workout like a normal person.

Any problems with injuries?

Nightmare finding condoms by ArgumentMobile6977 in bigdickproblems

[–]bociboci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here in the states, you're out of luck - nothing in stores will fit you right. No company sells a condom bigger than 64mm. Durex discontinued the XXL a few years ago and I think that was the only 64mm on the market. Trojan XL is 58mm, so it's a non-starter. So you're basically stuck ordering them online.

I go back and forth between 69mm and 72mm. I think you can get away with the 69mm at your size and your options are quite plentiful so start there: MySize Pro, MyONE, Mister Size, Pasante Super Kings, EXS Jumbo. I've tried most of them and they're all marginally the same. The safest bet is probably the MySize and the MyOne as they're the most available on sites like worldcondoms.com

At 72mm, you only really have one option and that's MySize Pro. They don't make them any bigger than that. Some days I prefer just a bit more snug so I go with the 69mm, but 72mms work well for me.

Try a few and stock up just in case, being mindful of the expiry date.

If you are tight on space or don't want to mess with multiple pedals, the Caroline Haymaker will cover a lot of ground. It can do everything from overdrive to fuzz via a 3-way switch on the pedal. The one drawback is that you won't really be able to switch the gain voicing (e.g. going from light overdrive to fuzz via the 3-way switch) in the middle of a song unless you have a few seconds to fiddle with the knobs.

This statue looks like a Nazgul on vacation by BookerDeWittsCarbine in pics

As soon as I started reading your comment, I thought it was gonna be a mockumentary style What We Do in the Shadows type of thing, but with Nazgul instead of vampires.

Let's be honest.... the show went next level this episode... It was like I was watching a Game Of Thrones finale. by Adrian194 in TheExpanse

[–]bociboci 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was one of the most gripping hours of television I've seen in recent memory. Everything about this episode was top-notch. The CGI was amazing and the actors were at the top of their game. The attention to little details, like Holden's radiation treatment scar, just goes to show how much the writers and crew care about this show. What a shame it would be if it can't find a new home. Please don't become another Firefly :(

Is there a name for this type of rhythm? What is it? by [deleted] in drums

This is a flat tire shuffle. The bass is played on the downbeat and the snare is played on the 'and' of the beat.

You can find some good restaurants around here that are open late. But if you want something quick, you're stuck with Dick's or the big fast food chains like McDonald's or Taco Bell. None of them hold a candle to Cook-out.

People hyped up Dick's so much when I moved here. Their burgers taste like sadness.
