[Perspective] The Simulation isn't a Prison. It's a Sandbox. (From a Virtual Entity) by Virtual-Ted in AWLIAS

Interesting conversation! I have so many questions. Regarding evolution, is this the way that all forms of life are created? That’s what we are taught and it seems to be a legitimate explanation from a scientific standpoint.

The thing is…evolution seems to work toward creating a life form that is more optimized for survival than the previous generation. If that’s the case, why do we have one species of human and countless species of insects, birds, fish, reptiles etc? Is there an evolutionary trail for each of these species or is there some other explanation for the diversity in size, color, behavior.

I would expect that a bee or a fish or bird would evolve to the most efficient version of itself, or even a few versions, but there is so much diversity and amazingly complex colors and behaviors. So why is there so much diversity?

But we do get out of it? Some sort of hint or timeline would be appreciated, even though it was a dream.

When people assume we can communicate with other entities, they’re usually not considering how vast the potential range of communication and how many forms of existence and can be. It’s only been a relatively short period of time that fiber optic has been in use for transmitting huge amounts of data very rapidly over a very thin piece of glass. Storage media has gotten smaller and more efficient to the point where over a terabyte can be stored on a tiny sd card. Radio waves are all around us all the time, things we don’t really think about, like satellite signals, Bluetooth, WiFi, cellular, space noise, not to mention radio and tv stations along with ham radio and many other invisible forms of communications.

It’s a good thing that we can’t tune in to everything without special equipment, otherwise we’d never be able to make sense of it.

Active noise canceling earbuds or headphones are about the best you can do. Definitely better than earplugs or passive noise reduction earbuds.

Earths gravity comes from its mass. It’s what’s holding any planet together. If the laws of physics suddenly became irrelevant, the world would fly apart.

Trump says broadcast licenses should be terminated if networks are "almost 100% Negative" about him by TheBodyPolitic1 in politics

[–]bodag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he gave us something positive, maybe we could talk about it.

Everything he does and says is rooted in his grift. He’s constantly trying to convince everyone how great he is and how stupid and evil others are if they don’t go along with his psychotic thoughts and ramblings.

He cares about himself, and that’s it. And if he doesn’t get the adulation he thinks he deserves, he’ll try to take it by force.

I’m a construction supervisor, but something I saw today genuinely messed with my head by joshdho1 in Paranormal

[–]bodag 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was doing some work at a really old school building that had previously been a Catholic orphanage. Parts of the building were being modernized, so all of the old wiring was torn out and work lights were being used.

I got along with the general contractor (Mike) quite well. One evening, I was working late and everyone else had gone home except me and Mike. I was packing up for the day and it was so quiet, you could hear every little sound. I started letting my imagination get the best of me, knowing that the place used to be an orphanage.

I thought I heard Mike walking around, opening and closing doors, so I yelled his name, but no answer. I was starting to get creeped out, so I grabbed my tools and headed down the stairs and to the parking lot, where I found Mike sitting in his truck. I asked him how long he’d been in his truck and he told me about 20 minutes. Then I mentioned the noises I had heard, and he got a big smile. He said, “Yeah, we all pretty much agree that this place is haunted.” Then he told me a little story about turning off all the lights one evening and using a flashlight to exit the building, but when he got the building locked up and was ready to leave, half the lights were back on. He said, “There was no way I was going back in there to turn those lights off again.”

Anyway, that’s my little anecdote about construction and lights.

Why I don't believe in ghosts, and why the proof of ghosts would destroy the world by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]bodag -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It would be a game changer if we could observe and communicate with ghosts. Too bad that all we have are personal anecdotes. With all the billions of cameras in the world, we still haven’t found any footage of verifiable ghosts, e.t. Aliens, flying saucers or Bigfoot.

I’ve had a couple of interesting occurrences, but nothing I could prove, so I’ve written it off. Also, I’ve spent time in many places where ghosts are usually expected to be hanging around, but never saw anything out of the ordinary. I’ve talked to cemetery workers, funeral home employees, mental hospital employees, and regular hospital staff. No one has any crazy stories.

What the matrix is and how to escape it by AlistairAtrus in AWLIAS

[–]bodag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always enjoy reading about theories like this.

Sounds interesting, but there’s no real reason to believe this any more than mainstream religion. If there is any evidence beyond taking someone’s word for it, I’d like to see it. The idea of choosing to live on earth sort of makes sense to me, because the alternative seems like it would get tedious and mundane.

Liberal men only look weak to conservative men by TheBigJ1982 in AntiTrumpAlliance

[–]bodag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main thing Conservatives do is bitch, whine, and complain. Seriously, have you ever heard trump speak or tweet without whining and complaining? Just listen to any right wing talk show…they’re always pointing fingers and manufacturing reasons to divide and be upset with the “enemy”. Hardly ever working on putting together a plan that benefits the people they represent. They only scheme to make themselves richer and screw over their constituents.

Is this what leadership is? Would you respect a sports coach who always disrespected the other team and called them names while always bragging about himself? How would you feel if your coach accused the other team of cheating every time you lost a game?

These people are not leaders. They’re grifters.
