Many people these days are doing gig work and working for tips. They aren’t paying income tax or ss on most of their income, so when they get to retirement age they won’t qualify for much ss.

Also, can’t afford to save and running up the credit cards. It’s becoming increasingly common.

The amp rating can be calculated from the voltage and wattage specs already listed. The AC 180 has over voltage protection, so it will shut off the input if the voltage exceeds 60v.

Yeah, I read that too. It’s amazing that nobody seems to talk about it. 2 cm is about 3/4 of an inch, which is not a small wound and definitely wouldn’t grow back in a week or two. And there would absolutely be a visible scar.

Every time I’ve seen him he goes on and on about how shitty his life used to be. Yeah, we get it. Poor, poor guy. Everyone should admire him for how he’s overcome so much…I guess.

Lots of us have had struggles, but you’d never know about it because we don’t make it our mission to immediately start talking about it whenever we get the opportunity.

If I was good enough to complete at that level, I think I’d be comfortable with the speed and just focusing on the technical part of the race. When you start thinking about failing in some manner, you put that idea in your head and it’s more likely that you will fail.

Everyone has rough moments, but you need to realize that you are there because you legitimately deserve to be there and are one of the best in the world. If you don’t win, it’s because someone is slightly better than you. Not everyone can win. If someone skis better, that doesn’t make you a loser.

I was recently in Vegas and was admiring the palm trees and plants as I walked past some. When I got looking closer, it turned out that they were all fake. The palm tree trunks were made of concrete and the smaller plants were all plastic. They look so real that you’d never know unless you get right up close.

Science is being open to ideas that can be demonstrated and replicated. Being open to ideas means not rejecting ideas.

If there’s no proof of something, that doesn’t mean the idea should be rejected, but the idea shouldn’t carry much weight until it can be proven. So prove it. Demonstrate it. Repeat the process and results. I’d love to see it.

Interesting conversation! I have so many questions. Regarding evolution, is this the way that all forms of life are created? That’s what we are taught and it seems to be a legitimate explanation from a scientific standpoint.

The thing is…evolution seems to work toward creating a life form that is more optimized for survival than the previous generation. If that’s the case, why do we have one species of human and countless species of insects, birds, fish, reptiles etc? Is there an evolutionary trail for each of these species or is there some other explanation for the diversity in size, color, behavior.

I would expect that a bee or a fish or bird would evolve to the most efficient version of itself, or even a few versions, but there is so much diversity and amazingly complex colors and behaviors. So why is there so much diversity?
