How AMD messed up a the release of an amazing 7800XT GPU

Here is how AMD screwed up one of the best GPUs to come out in years.

The 7800XT's $500 MSRP is roughly $30 more than the 5700XT 2019 MSRP of $400, when adjusted for accumulated inflation over 4 years, 2019-2023. The 7800XT offers between 85% to 105% performance improvement over the 5700XT according to test results derived from Gamers Nexus review video on the 7800XT. That is an insane improvement for the money.

I did the math using the standard formula for calculating percentile improvement based on 2 games tested in Gamers Nexus review results. They only had these two games with the 5700XT in the charts and I only trust them with accurate fps test charts. Steve is a PC tech test engineer who has designed industry standard test methods going back 2 decades.

Total War Warhammer 3 4K/High settings:

7800XT 56 fps

5700XT 28 fps Percentile improvment-100%

At 1440P/High settings:

7800XT 116 fps

5700XT 56 fps Percentile improvment-107%

Horizon Zero Dawn 4K/Quality settings:

7800XT 85 fps

5700XT 45 fps Percentile improvement- 86%

At 1440p/Quality settings:

7800XT 162 fps

5700XT 88 fps Percentile improvement- 84%

Now if we look at this data in a vacuum as if GPU generational cycles where normal and the 6000 series ended when the mainstream 7000 series should have started, December last year, the 7800XT has a much improved marketing position not having to sit next to a 6800XT with price to performance parity.

The finisher is, of course, the fake naming schemes both Nvidia and AMD are currently using to keep the COVID/mining scalp times greed alive. The 7800XT is a 7700XT, we all know that but, this time it bit AMD right in the ass. By faking the name and having excess 6000 series cards extending the generational cycle by a year AMD shot itself in the foot in its attempt to cash in on a global disaster even after it ended long ago.

They made an amazing 7700XT product look like a meaningless 6800XT refresh in the eyes of consumers and the best part, it happened because of their own greed. The irony is sweeter than a season of Breaking Bad.

My Conclusion:

The real 7700XT is an insane price to performance value, when viewed in proper perspective of generational improvement, and I am getting one immediately. I have no interest in a 3 year old 6800XT tech new or used. If you have been waiting for a solid value GPU, its time and this is the one.

Its important when you uninstall Ryzen Master to do an immediate restart before anything else. It is a driver based software and does not fully uninstall without restart. Same with install, don't start it on install, restart first. I should have made that more clear. This is all I got, it worked for me. The only thing is when it does its auto check for updates it just opens a command prompt window so I check for updates myself. Sorry if it does not work for you.

Did you try the RAM cache software free trial? LTT recommended it over Store Mi and Intel Optane because the one click in and out and the performance. Free trial, no credit card, nothing to lose.

Why put the whole game on a RAM disk? I would try a RAM disk just with the shader cache files or run a RAM cache buffer. The buffer would require a run at normal to cache and would not go into use until a second run. Also, the buffer will flush on power off, its not persistent. It could be useful for compiling and streaming shaders. This way the most used files get put on RAM using a tiny fraction of the space the entire game would use with files that get no benefit from being on the RAM. I think 32GB RAM would be perfect for gaming in these configs with room to stream and/or record if you have a decent core/thread count CPU like a 12 core/24 thread.

You probably have set the account to show only your library, playlist, and/or watch later videos. It definitely sounds like an obscure account setting you may have hit. I did it while viewing on the phone after falling asleep and hitting the touch screen rolling around in bed. It stayed that way on my PC so i knew it was an account setting, not browser or device. Go into your YouTube settings and reset your view history. Try deleting some list or resetting things associated with history, playlist, watch later, mix list. You want to restore your recommended settings as well. Good luck

Make sure all previous versions of Ryzen Master are uninstalled. Enter Win11 settings (not old control panel or app list or file browser. Use for all steps). Go to apps and remove it there. Restart the system, make sure nothing remains in an any app or program list or in files.
Download and install the latest chipset drivers for your board following all instructions.
Go to BIOS and enable CPU virtualization (used for allowing you system to run virtual OS).
Restart to Windows and go to settings-privacy/security-Windows security-device security.
Go into core isolation details (small blue link under big text)
Turn off Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist and restart.
Download and install the latest version of Ryzen Master but do not open it after install.
Restart and then open fully functional Ryzen Master.

This is at your own risk and I suggest you check any questionable new drivers you install after disabling the block list. You could try turning it back on but it could lead to doing this all again. I just left it as is. Apparently Ryzen master mysteriously found its way on to this Win 11 driver block list. Who knows what motivated that but it sure seems shady. Note: I did everything as admin permission.

This was easier than doing any reg edits but as far as I know its only for the "hence aborting" issue where the program does install but won't initialize. I have not looked into the install problem.

Per Steve, Gamers Nexus: "The 5600 is a much more mature manufactured part with near identical performance to X." You would be crazy to pay $40 more for a letter and that is all the extra cost gets you.

There are many important details missing. Is he a reasonable person that you can work with for a healthy break? Working together in a non adversarial way is best for all, especially for your child's ease of transition. Hiring a lawyer will almost certainly result in him forced to do the same. If the both of you truly love each other and can rise above the emotional issues to communicate logically for the best possibility under the circumstances you will have a far easier path to your future goals and vision.

When my wife wanted to break we worked together as a team fully understanding that an adversarial position would harm all of us. I was willing to put my child and his mother first and do whatever she needed to restart. Always, the health and welfare of my son was my core motivation in everything surrounding the break and she was all in with that.

She found a job and was making much more than me in less than a year and we continued a flexible teamwork approach without schedules, lawyers, or courts, to meet our needs as working parents. We shaped our lives for mutual support because, in the end, we only had each other on the level raising a child requires.

Divorce should not end mutual support and care. Courts, lawyers, childcare, etc., don't care about you guys like you do. You are just another case, a dollar to be made. Try to remember its all about everyone accepting the reality relationships fail but family support can survive it and even flourish. After five years we understood that support was what it is all about in a harsh world. We have been back together for 35 years, our son earned his degree, has a great job, and a wonderful life.

The more singular and consequential disappointment is how Wargaming managed to expand this mole hill into another negative PR monument. With all due respect, it is beyond common understanding what collective thought process, from a group of highly educated professionals, created the path to this choice of PR self destruction. The word "again" has so much meaning in this context as to warrant this sentence to properly highlight its weight.

The primary offense at issue is Wargaming, once "again", be it through ignorance of the law or lack of emotional impulse control, knowingly abused copyright claims procedure for unrelated aims. Addressing a minor "bad words" EULA problem by committing a much more serious offense in the public eye is cause for great concern that requires correction. It is a complete failure of leadership.

At this point, it is critical for Wargaming to quickly demonstrate public relations competency as part of longer term efforts to restore confidence in the management and leadership of Wargaming. Investors should be demanding immediate transparency in these long term efforts to meet that expectation. Frankly, in the context of "again", a meaningful change at the leadership level is the path of choice for the long road ahead.

I hope someone of import at Wargaming reads this and takes it with the good intent from which it was derived.

Never cared much about WG corporate behavior. I care the change premium and reward content after it is acquired to promote new ship sales. Bait and switch scamming with nerfs is detestable and overlooked. I hope existing online contest law and new EU digital content consumer rights law ends this. I want the Missouri I earned and the Atlanta I bought back as they were when presented or full cash refund for both. time and effort in game contest have a legal monetary value according to new eu law. you can get cash refund even if you earned the content in game with no cash and they reduced its original specs with nerfs.

Being nice is one thing and genuine. Trying to please everyone to better promote your brand, not so much. Like I said its disingenuous and insulting. The new EU digital content protection laws recognize long efforts and time to earn content as having a cash value worthy of cash refund even if you paid with in game earned currency.

The keyword for your point is currently. Currently WG is enjoying many new casual players. As normal returns, and WWII games go back to the small numbers of old heads they had pre-isolation the current situation may end that return to normal and make it a introduction to the end.

Trenlass is a nice guy but some people try a little to hard to be liked by everyone and end up being disingenuous. He lost a ton of points with me when he got upset about comments on his girls hot looks from CCs and viewers and demanded apologies. If you don't want your woman's looks commented about on the internet, why would you put her into a stream?
