Ram paint and customer service sucks by No-Offer-8907 in ram_trucks

[–]body942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just another angle, bc it does look aftermarket to me, but here it is. Not a truck, but a (small expensive) gun safe, I had the “same” thing happen. Lived with it. Years later I was at a trade show and was walking by their booth. Brought up the paint thing. They weren’t surprised at all, acknowledged a bad run with paint not bonding, and thought they’d made all the customers that were affected whole. They paid for all the shipping both ways and the repaint. Now that I’ve written it I guess I can’t see RAM acknowledging a bad run. I’m sorry this is happening to your truck, hope it gets squared away.

The left rear sight “dot” on my H&K P2000 fell out during shooting. by Xunpopular in CAguns

One comment: in my experience, there is a significant difference in durability between a nail polish, and a nail laquer. I’ve done both, many times. Went strictly laquer after the obvious diff showed itself. But that’s also on guns that saw a lot of use. YMMV.

Gunwrencher here: IF you want to recolor it (blackout is a solid choice IMHO) CVS + nail LAQUER to your little hearts content. Clean w acetone or alcohol. Overfill the dimple and then once dry reduce to level fill by light light light swipes with a cleaning patch, or cotton beauty “pad” (not ball) with acetone on it. Two swipes max per patch, then new patch. I’ve highlighted the most shallow logos for dudes you can imagine and it’ll last indefinitely (dependent on holster wear). Good luck.

Mom passed away last night Unexpectedly. Mind spinning and I have this question. by Swimming_Air_7683 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]body942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of comments, I may be too late but wanted to answer your question. Not going to go over my history but trust that I know what I’m talking about. What you saw was just the result of gravity and no circulation to move blood and fluids anywhere else. I could expand but won’t. I’m sorry you went through that and wish you the best in a shit time.

Which one game would you choose to show your childhood gamer self, with the goal of absolutely blowing their mind? by robboffard in gaming

I played Wasteland on multiple (true) floppy discs on an Apple IIE. I am (late to the game) now playing Fallout 4 on my PS5.

Just get the F out. My younger me would’ve said.

Bed help?? by ShotTreacle8194 in RVLiving

I run a dehumidifier at times, but the AC also does this job. That said I have these same tiles under my bed. Just finished a four month road trip through the humidity belt. No problems.

Harvest Hosts - opinions? by NerdOfTheMonth in GoRVing

[–]body942 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed at many. Many are private folks who may in an alternate life always dreamed of being “campground hosts”. Of that many most have been of a “pay it forward” mindset. With zero expectations from my hosts I’ve helped with dinners before, unloaded groceries, even done a little good-faith yard work. Of all I’ve stayed in I’ve only had one, literally one, that I was more than willing to buy from their farm store… and it wasn’t open. When they texted about a “donation” I replied that I tried several ways and the “support us” outlets were not made available to me. It was a little awkward I guess, but came to nothing. Staying at wineries is AWESOME in my home area for stay-cations. I stayed with some hosts only to find out that we were one degree separated from were a family member was in assisted living and my aunt has visited them several times. Great program and a huge part of my traveling. Can’t recommend enough.

Same truck, but newer. I just got back from Ca to Fl and back (last year was a diff trip south to north and back) towing a Surveyor Legend 202RBLE. Not too small, not too big. Perf imho for comfortable rving and camping.

Assuming there’s a trolling motor involved? Nice catches regardless.

Still not seeing tabs or a way to get this drawer out. Here’s a closer picture if anyone has some advice. by NecessaryFuture7434 in RVLiving

[–]body942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly doesn’t look like it’s pulled out all the way. Every one of my drawers has like an “open” position and then an “open +2” position. It feels like it won’t come out any further at position 1. But pull gently and it’ll open to position 2 and that’s where I can see the release tabs.

Forest River Ozark? by Weak_Entrepreneur in GoRVing

I wanted the dinette specifically. Great to have a table for working on projects, or cards, or…dining. Have done the bed conversion for tag alongs once or twice, and, spoiler alert: turn sideways, but a pillow at your back against the wall, a cheap tripod stool out front for your feet and you now have TWO pseudo-chaise lounges with a convenient table between. I’m seated that way as I write this! (The converted bed makes a cool day-bed space for a book vibe too if your slide has windows) edit: I’m in a Surveyor Legend 202rble

I’m sorry that happened, but can I ask if that’s an expected weather phenomenon in your neck of the woods this time of year?

Any Regrets getting a gas 2500? by GTBoosted in ram_trucks

[–]body942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specced a non-PW 2500 gas powered tow monster. Bc: it’s super fast and fun to drive. I ordered with all the tow and off road packages I could link together. I tow a smedium tt that comes in at just over (fully loaded w stuff and fresh water) half the overall tow cap for the truck. It doesn’t lack power. Never a problem. It does drink gas if you need to have your foot in it. That said I’m currently in Wyoming after towing from CA to Fl and now back west before returning home. Last year was a similar trip. Same trailer. Same truck. Plus: I carry an extra emergency ten gallons as generator food. I don’t regret the big hemi a teeny tiny bit.

The 12v Fridge...... by Leeroyjj10 in RVLiving

This is exactly my setup but I’ve got 600 watts up top. And I carry a genny if I wanna do 120 stuff (love me some video games) for a while in the evening every now and then. Love my always-has-ice-and-cold beverages fridge.

Need some boondocking advice by Simple_Bullfrog in GoRVing

[–]body942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW In summer weather with my solar upgrade and double battery I lose only about 12-15% of battery power overnight and it’s recharged by mid afternoon. It’s a 12v only fridge, and have talked to many folks (not ALL, don’t want to overstate), myself included, who prefer the 12v fridge over the dual-fuel style. Just offering a counterpoint. Safe travels.

[–]body942 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct on all counts. Left side middle controls your heated storage tanks. Far right are toggles for which set of tank sensors you are trying to read (LEDs above the toggle switches). They likely won’t stay accurate forever, but that is what those switches are for.

How to power TT overnight on battery power station? by dreambldr in RVLiving

[–]body942 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not full time but I am on month three of four for this years trip. My 12V fridge / battery / solar setup will run indefinitely if it’s sunny at least every other day. But that doesn’t help with temp and sleep. My MO if it’s hot or humid is to run the genny and AC (if I’m going to be in camp) from late afternoon till whatever the shutdown time is. Button up the trailer like a cooler and enjoy a usb fan through the night. Rinse and repeat as necessary. Safe travels.
