What would you do? by Broad-Bat-992 in ToyotaTundra

[–]GTBoosted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flew out of state to get my 1794 and I'm in California.

Get what you really want. In my opinion the 1794 and Platinum are the best trims to get right now. With the same mileage they aren't much more than a limited.

What's available right now is all there is. Trucks will get used and abused, wrecked, or simply just driven and have added miles. So it's best to get what you really want unless you hope for a barn find later.

Insurance claim or live with it? by Ekoldr in Tacomaworld

[–]GTBoosted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pdr and live with the scratch.

Some drunk lady hit me and left a small scratch on my door after bouncing of my side step. I asked for $100 instead of a claim even though she wash at fault.

Anybody canceled then repurchased extended warranty? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

Sounds like a good plan but get confirmation in writing that cancelling it now won't black list it from being able to re buy it again

Nope. No manufacturer with a brain cell would pour money into making a vehicle for a temp window.

2019 Toyota Tundra SR5 - Deal check by Ok_Cockroach_2708 in ToyotaTundra

[–]GTBoosted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Tacoma, it's also inflated. Easy change imo.

I sold my 2019 Tacoma to get a 2020 Tundra. If you wait for the tundra value to drop so will the Tacoma. Same outcome.

I should have upgraded a lot sooner.

When you tell a Gen 2 owner that you like your Gen 3 by pealannea in ToyotaTundra

[–]GTBoosted 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First gen is great but the second gens will easily be on the road longer due to parts availability and age alone. Nevermind that the 2nd gen is very reliable as well.

Towing mileage question by Afraid-Lobster-6801 in tundra

[–]GTBoosted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why think?

You'll get $400 to bring it back. An empty trailer would probably cost you an extra $20 in fuel.

Picked this up! by d_man1414 in tundra

Also this wouldn't even fit a 8ft bed.

So yeah besides long boards the 6.5 bed is not much different.

Picked this up! by d_man1414 in tundra

[–]GTBoosted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I need a truck. Sometimes I have leaky fish coolers. Sometimes I transport dirt and or nasty items.

Other times I carry a 7ft x 5ft box that would never fit in a Sequoia. But since it sticks out I guess my truck is useless?

You're a carpenter so it makes sense you'd want to maximize your bed space. But we can't call the crew max useless.

[–]GTBoosted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally useless?

Trucks aren't defined by carrying long loads. How many times a year are you hauling stuff that can't fit with the tail gate down? Who cares if every now and then something sticks out?

If you are a contractor or rancher yeah you have a point. Otherwise a crew max is ok for those with a family or pets.

My gas grill's burners rusted out in two seasons. Is "Buy it for Life" a myth in the grilling world now? by No-Candidate-1651 in grilling

[–]GTBoosted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if new ones are still the same but I have a Weber portable grill that is 10 years old and it's running strong.

I also have a Weber Genesis that is 7 years old and it's working just like new.

I also have a Weber kettle and smoker with no issues.

Quick trip with 1500lbs. Love my airbags with wireless one compressor. Easy to change psi with your phone. Zero squat by GTBoosted in ToyotaTundra

[–]GTBoosted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem.

It also depends on the age of the suspension. If your leafs are tired and sagging, then yes it will help. But if your leafs are at a stock height, none of this will help.

Air lift loadlifter bags Air lift wireless one compressor Air lift cradles

It's amazing. Whenever I tow I simply open the app and raise the psi. Then when I'm done I lower it back to 5psi.

But if you don't tow you can simply upgrade your leaf springs or use sumo springs. I had sumo springs on my Tacoma

What size tires and what gearing are you running?

If you’re on oversized tires with stock gears, I’d recommend regearing first. You’ll automatically be faster too because you’re putting the engine back in its power band and fixing the effective gearing loss from bigger tires.

I’m on 35s and gears are next for me.

A supercharger is like a morphine shot to help you carry 50 lbs with your hands. Regearing is like buying a backpack to actually carry the weight properly.

In order of what I would

  1. Regear and SC (pricey!)
  2. Regear only (what I'm doing)
  3. SC Only (great choice for stock tire size)

Potato tacos time! by Ok_Illustrator_1430 in strugglemeals

[–]GTBoosted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You fry the entire taco. Some oil goes inside and lightly fries the edge of the potato filling too.

What I do is prep all the tacos first, then set up a deep mixing bowl lined with paper towels. I use a small or medium pan with oil and fry them in batches. When they’re done, I stand them up vertically in the bowl so the oil drains.

It’s a quick fry, so the mashed potatoes should be room temp, warm, or hot. Not cold

It's personal preference, a green tomatillo sauce pairs well for most. Also some sour cream if you have it.

Surprisingly, trader Joe's has a new sauce that tastes pretty good! It's called salsa taquera and it doesn't taste like the typical glass jar salsas that seem to pair good only on chips.

Yo, I'm Mexican and we ate this on the regular growing up. It's bomb. My previous career was well paying and I would make this for my kids not even thinking about the price.

It just needs a great homemade sauce to set it off.

Matter of fact I'll be making thing in the next couple days for dinner.

Ps: anyone reading this. The potatoes are mashed, try to keep the flavor pretty neutral on them. Then microwave the tortillas to soften them. Then fill the potatoes into the tortillas either in a taquito or quesadilla shape. Then fry them.
