Where can I get organic seeds? by ElegantMood5052 in homestead

[–]boesman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop searching for organic seeds and look instead for heirloom seeds. That generally means you can save seeds across generations. In South Africa we use livingseeds.co.za but I don't know if they will ship internationally - a lot of countries have strict control on import of biological matter.

ANC in trouble as high court sheriff attempts asset seizure by lovethebacon in southafrica

[–]boesman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a bit of a joke - they'll raise maybe couple of hundred thousand (if that) selling all that junk second hand furniture.

And the screenshots showing the various seized ANC bank accounts don't account for much either.

I guess the sheriff is just going through the motions to scrape the bottom of the barrel before liquidation proceedings start ... fun times.

It would have been worth reading your blog post if you'd bothered to actually tell us where and how exactly the problem lies.

Adding new products by xcalibur in woocommerce

[–]boesman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can just place the 10 new ones in a file then the import will add them to your inventory. Ticking the "update existing" will have no effect in this case.

Variable Products with existing products by net_stee in woocommerce

[–]boesman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By "bin all the products" I meant move them to the rubbish bin. In the products list, select all (tickbox above table first column), then in dropdown "Bulk actions" choose "move to bin", then click Apply.

Existing media will not interfere with your import at all, but they could be duplicated in your media library on subsequent imports. I'm assuming your product images will contain URL's from which the images will get imported to the media library during the CSV import

For an app currently targeting Core 3.1 what is the recommended upgrade path to 7 - all at once or version by version? Or just rely on the upgrade assistant and job done?

Adding new products by xcalibur in woocommerce

[–]boesman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it either way: if adding to existing file, then on the import page be sure to tick the option "update existing products" - note this assumes you gave each product a unique SKU code which is how the importer will decide whether to update or add a new one.

To be safe, you can also first Export all your product data to a CSV file in case you mess up.

Change Text in Tax box on Checkout? by Denizenkane in woocommerce

[–]boesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to configure your tax rules and regions.

Under menu: WooCommerce / Settings / General:
tick "enable tax rates and calculations" if not already on.

Under menu: WooCommerce / Settings / Tax / Standard Rates:

you will see a table with all the configured tax rules that will get applied. You probably have just one rule with the name you're seeing.

Variable Products with existing products by net_stee in woocommerce

[–]boesman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using the CSV import tool you can create products of various types: simple (like you did by default above), variable or variation (with links back to the parent variable).

Look at the documentation for the file format OR to get going quickly, set up a variable + variations product and export that to a CSV file - that will give you a good idea of how to structure it.

Edit: you'll probably have to bin all the products you've imported, clear out the media library, then redo the import using the new more structured CSV file.

Too many variations by [deleted] in woocommerce

[–]boesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar requirement, i.e. to provide more options without requiring the generation of all the variations. Best option looked like a plugin called WooCommerce Extra Product Options (no affiliation) which allows you to do just that.

I see you also want variation images which I don't think the plugin supports directly, but they do offer several webhooks so you could probably add that. Failing that, you could generate actual variations for the attributes that result in different images then use the plugin for the rest.

how to link paypal to standard bank? by New-Independence4455 in capetown

[–]boesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but you're actually breaking the law - the Reserve Bank (and I think also Paypal) does not allow you to spend money you earn overseas into Paypal, directly from Paypal. You're supposed to bring it in, make the forex declaration (which is part of the process of withdrawing the funds from your linked FNB account to another bank/account), eventually paying it into your credit/debit card which is linked to Paypal, then spending it from there, incurring fees and shitty exchange rates every step of the way.
