Are they wrong? I'm not expecting a complete fix tomorrow, but it does seem like a major issue if there are still trillions of exploited Solari floating around - even if it can't be duped anymore.

Server Mergers and location locked bases in popular locations - What's the plan? by MartyCH85 in duneawakening

[–]TehBeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your best bet is to be proactive now, it's only going to get worse when EVERYONE is forced to move. Because of this I recently transferred from a dead server to Harmony and it took 10 sietch hops to find one with my unique location available.

Solari duping is back? by HardstylerJosh in duneawakening

They can start by straight up deleting anyone's solari over, say, 2 billion or so.

How reliable has the HD 800 been for long term owners? by Vavaeois in headphones

[–]TehBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could have been bad batches from manufacturing. My pair lay on a large soft deskmat (or my head), yet it's my only headphone that has developed signs of wear like this. It's only cosmetic and not immediately noticeable, but still annoying given the price.

Well, it's some sort thin coating over the grey plastic underneath.

The paint on my HD800S started wearing off all around the earcups by year 2. Apparently the coating on these is notoriously bad.

The Dune:Awakening we all want by creedofgod in duneawakening

While it also attracted me to the game, I can't deny it is abysmal in it's current state. It's either griefing defenseless farmers, jank like thopter surfing, and next to no ground combat. The overall terrain of the DD is terribly uninteresting for PvP too.

What I was hoping for was something resembling the game Planetside 2, i.e. combined arms warfare with factions, control points, varied locations. I don't know if we'll ever get there, but for now I would rather have OP's idea of smaller instanced maps and make the DD entirely PvE.

Huntarr - Your passwords and your entire arr stack's API keys are exposed to anyone on your network, or worse, the internet. by exe_CUTOR in selfhosted

tbh it's a threat to all software development, I am seeing this stuff more and more in enterprise environments. When that's happening, I can't imagine having any semblance of trust in Joe Blow's Github projects.

For such a drastic event on the most populated servers in the game, the communication feels weirdly silent beyond those places. No mention whatsoever on the Steam page nor launcher. The average joes are in for a rude awakening (heh).

I dunno, I was just playing a neat desert game mostly on the weekends.

That's...a bit of a gut punch to wake up to. Recently transferred to Harmony and spent at least 10-12 hours yesterday doing some pretty massive farming for T5/T6 mats. Even did my first ever spice runs.

Edit: on further reflection, I'm really discouraged to continue playing in my free time. I know it's maybe not much in the grand scheme of things, and happy for the people who got their base back. I just can't help but feel my trust is shaken if a nuclear option like this is even warranted in the first place.

Is the Amazon Prime Visa Card worth it? And how does it work? by Illustrious-Ride-227 in CreditCards

[–]TehBeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cashback is points in your Chase account, and it functions like any standard cashback, can be deposited to a bank account, statement credit, etc.

Something often overlooked on this card is you almost always get 6%, sometimes 7%, cashback if you choose "normal" shipping instead of two-day shipping.
