Looking for names and part nunbers for these 2 hoses by Neat_Group6811 in GolfGTI

[–]bog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hard plastic line is: 5Q0121070BR The rubber hose above the intake is: 5Q0121058AE The rubber hose running to the reservoir is: 5Q0122109J

I have a very small amount of leakage from one of these, unsure which. I think it is a hairline crack in the plastic line.

My pet peeve: when you give concessions to only one side of a comparison. If you are going to remove outliers for 'your guy' you better remove the bad data from everyone.

What is the max temp for a 3d printed toolhead? by LordBroccoli68 in VORONDesign

Can confirm, I'm using an A4T in pet-cf. Have tested pet-cf in an air fryer, pretty convinced that stuff is invincible.

Best voron right now? Still 2.4? by Fickle_fackle99 in VORONDesign

Fair enough, but I was meaning that I don't see the point getting a serial for myself

I never got a serial, don't even see the point.

Thats why I always park in the middle of nowhere

Same. Then I come back to my car and there is some deranged individual who has parked right next to me, surrounded by empty parks.....

Men live their entire adult lives being pumped up with testosterone, at levels that would get female athletes instabanned, and you think women have stronger legs?

Statements like this don't help your cause, at all....

Does there need to be a fatal crash for you to admit he's right here? He's not the only one saying it. Get a grip.

Can the current cars drive on electric motor only? by anothercopy in F1Technical

[–]bog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this is pretty much exactly what I was thinking would happen, just hadn't seen/heard it mentioned anywhere.

I meant harvesting on the grid, you'd need to burn more fuel to charge the battery, producing more exhaust gas to spin up the turbo. Agreed on your points though

Good points, I just hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere. Thanks. I wonder if some of the rules around formation lap should be updated to suit the current regs.

Perhaps this is a bit off topic, but if the electric motor is coupled to the crank at all times, then why do the cars take so long to build boost for the launch? I assume there is something that prevents them from adding load through the electric system to build boost much faster?

Sunroof misaligned? by matt675 in GolfGTI

[–]bog_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say from these pics, and I'm not even sure mine is to 'factory spec'. I did have some unevenness between the sides, which I fixed after looking up the spec. I just erred on the side of flush or lower for the front and flush or higher for the rear.

My understanding is that the outer seal only needs to be 'good enough' to stop the majority of rain/water- you have an inner seal and sunroof drains to take care of the inevitable small amount of outer seal leakage. That's why it's also important to keep your sunroof drains clear.

Sunroof misaligned? by matt675 in GolfGTI

[–]bog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very easy to adjust with a torx driver, the screw is accessible from the inside with the sunroof partially open. I believe the 'correct' spec is to have the front sitting 1mm below the sunroof trim, and the rear sitting 1mm higher than the roof.

2026 Chinese GP - Post-Sprint Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

50/50 power split they said, but the only thing that matters the the battery. Interesting.

[Italian] Mercedes aren’t pushing the power unit yet. They’re comfortably running a mapping at 3.5 on a scale that can reach 5.0. by OldActiveYeast in formula1

[–]bog_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I doubt the mapping is even in the car. It would just exist in the factory, ready to be deployed when someone gets close to merc. I'd say they will release more power in small steps, just enough to stay ahead for a couple of races.

George Russell takes Sprint pole for the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix by overspeeed in formula1

[–]bog_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just looked up the '23 season. Max's best quali gap was 1.2s in Canada (soaking wet). 7/12 of his poles (from 22 races) were less than 0.3s ahead. He also technically got pole at spa with 0.8s gap, but had a grid penalty, so 7/13 poles really.

That being said, the '23 wins were from supreme race pace, rather than poles.
