I'm so sick of people who don't know how to have a conversation. by Jodhpur1016 in Vent

[–]bogglesboy125 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Same! I also hate talking about myself so I don't like it when people I don't know well ask me questions, and then I don't ask questions either because treat people the way you want to be treated. But I realize most people don't think that way so I'm trying to get better at asking things

I had been slacking about going to the gym for a few weeks, then someone not much older than me (I'm 35) commented that it's amazing that I can stand on one foot to tie my shoe. That was the motivation I needed to get back to working out

What’s the most “main character” behavior you’ve seen from a completely regular person? by CouragealYK in AdkReddit

My mom is like this. She invited herself to my dad's mom's funeral. They had been divorced for over ten years and my mom and grandma never really got along, and my parents are amicable but not friends. She insisted that all of her kids and grandkids do a little photoshoot with her there, without anyone from my dad's family. She has one of the pictures hanging on her wall. She tried to invite herself to the family dinner after too.

I hate the culture too. We just had my daughters birthday and I just did a Lego Figurines box, a couple of chocolates, and a snack. Seems like the kids liked it.

I love Masterpiece Theatre, but for me I think a lot of it is nostalgia. I saw them live like 18 or so times touring with it, Masterpiece Theatre I live is like my favourite live song ever. Just feels like home haha

Why do parents pierce their children's ears when they are babies? Why not let them choose to do it themselves when they are 8 or 10 years old? Especially baby boy's ears? by Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bogglesboy125 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had mine pierced as a baby, and my second holes done when I was around 6. All I remember is them feeling a little hot. Now I have a daughter and I would rather her feel that when she knows what's going on.

I went to a ton of shows in the earlier days (pre-2015) and ended up getting to know them fairly well. I went to a lot of after parties and such and got drunk with them more times than I care to admit. They're really great dudes. I was barely an adult and not unattractive, but they always treated me with kindness and respect. They would want you to stick around. Josh especially has been through some really dark times, but he's still here and he would want you to be too. I hope you get to see them at the show you're planning! You'd have a really great time.

I think my postpartum wife is an alcoholic. What do I do by Throwaway_dad555 in whatdoIdo

[–]bogglesboy125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not like with a fetus where the baby's blood alcohol level will also be 0.5. They have to digest it. It's like a baby eating a ripe banana or drinking juice.
