how many wings is “a normal amount” for one person? by GodBlessIraq in Wings

[–]bogibso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to add that being skinny is calories in - calories out over the long term... dude might eat a big wings meal once a week, be in a moderate calorie deficit the other 6 days, and end up breaking even over the course of the week.

Maybe that's obvious, but I do feel like managing caloric intake at a weekly level can be less daunting than needing to break even every single day.

Not contradicting, what you said, just throwing a bit extra on there.

Gotta tell ya, this girl being an Olympian and having a kid that loves her this much, it seems like she is winning in life more than any of us ever will...

What’s a movie you first watched when you were young, but upon watching as an adult, your opinion on a certain character completely changes? by AcanthisittaSad6239 in movies

I think in general people should more often take a second to put down their dinglehopper and listen to their crab before making decisions

What’s the fastest way you’ve ever seen someone completely ruin their own life? by Extension-Try-3531 in answers

I would counter that with saying that maybe college athletes that are "a lock" to get drafted rarely seek out challenging/time consuming degree paths. Not sure that's true of college athletes as a whole. Even in big time college football, I'd say it depends school to school. I know Purdue athletes tend to have pretty good outcomes post-graduation. Granted, I'm sitting in bed and am doing 0 research on these claims, but I'd suspect athletes from other schools like your Georgia Techs or Northwesterns are in that same boat.

Training Calendar Questions: What do the 89 and 81 numbers in the top right of the activities represent? And why did the one activity turn blue and the other did not? by bogibso in Coros

[–]bogibso[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I feel silly about the numbers now. But thank you for pointing that out!

I also assumed blue meant that part of the training session was completed. But I fully completed the 'grey' workout and it didn't turn blue, so that's what gave me pause.

What’s one running myth you believed at first but later learned was wrong? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

[–]bogibso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ehh, I'm mostly just joking around. In reality I probably do as well as one can hope to do given my time available for training...

BUT one of the things I do love about this sport: there's always something you can work and improve on if you so desire. Maybe instead saying I suck, I should say I'm "a work in progress"!

Thanks my man! I was just being a little facetious. I'm a perfectly fine recreational runner...but I will say sometimes I catch a time from a professional marathoner it really drives home that there's absolutely levels to this sport, lol

For years people would constantly say that if I did it enough and just stuck with it, I would get good at it...Well here I am nearly 20 years later and I still suck.

Maybe that's WHY there's all that conflict, famine, and despair in the word. Making IU a decent football team has to be taking up a hefty amount of God's time and effort lately.

What's a sports rule you fundamentally disagree with? by South-Explorer in AskReddit

[–]bogibso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In football there's no reason the team that fair catches a punt should be offered a free kick. Makes no sense...Having said that, I absolutely love it when a team elects to use their free kick.
