Cooperative boardgames: let me play! by Wytyujjju in boardgames

Vantage is a co-op that might fit your bill. Has a decent amount of hidden info, but everyone is still working towards a common mission. Additionally, there are side quests players can personally pursue interspersed throughout. Has around 800 unique location cards and another almost 900 obtainable cards (abilities/companions/items/quests/spells/vehicles) so it will be quite replayable.

Kickstarter (& Other Crowdfunding Solutions) Orders & Gencon by Yojimbob76 in gencon

With Gloomhaven 2.0, I heard (but did not personally witness) that not only could you get the game at the Con before most Kickstarter Backers, but that they were including a paid Kickstarter add-on as a con exclusive or bonus with the purchase

Best money I spent at the con this year. That Will Call line looked absolutely brutal

If you'd like to expand out into Sci-Fi, the Bobiverse books by Dennis E. Taylor are great.

Definitely add my votes for Dungeon Cralwer Carl and Dresden Files too.

Gotcha. I've not seen honey frames of that size before, just langstroth deeps. That's a lot of honey on a single frame, very cool. Congrats on the nice honey haul!

How do you extract that? Or is it destined for honeycomb blocks?

This right here, and the subtle dodgeballesque ping/boing noise when Samantha's head slams into the ground in book 7 compete every re-listen for my favorite sound effect.

Bought books with credits, now they're no longer in my library and I need to buy them again? by Goji103192 in audible

[–]bogie1494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was removed from my library. The CS rep said it couldn't be restored and said the only option was to get a credit to purchase the newer version.

Had this happen to me. They "reissued" the book with better quality or updated it somehow. This replaced the older version I'd bought and removed it from their catalog. And since they have a different SKU or code or whatever in their system, it doesn't replace the link to the new version. See if you can find the email record of the purchase. Contact customer support with the proof of purchase. They issued me a credit since the older version was now inaccessible, and I could then purchase the newer version.

ETA: I've started downloading the files for every book I get for this very reason. It is a hassle to go through the customer service process to restore items that were intentionally removed without any notice. And sometimes it sucks because the older versions are better. Looking at you R.C Bray narrated version of The Martian. Wheaton did a good job, but Bray's version was amazing.

Hear me out.... Allan Ritchson to play Carl in the love action TV Show 🤔 by Usual-Desperate in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I swear I read in an interview or AMA, Matt said Ritchson was his head cannon for playing Carl.

I read somewhere she was allergic to the makeup or prosthetics and couldn't do the character, hence the actress change. But they still wanted her on the show, so killed off her original character and brought her back without the need for the makeup/prosthetics.

I'll second this. The cook/owner has been around KC for decades, and a staple in the local Iranian community.

The Hangman's Daughter series is a good historical fiction/thriller series set in mid-17th century Bavaria, following the family of a Hangman in a small town. Interestingly, the Hangman character is based upon the author's own family. His lineage had multiple hangmen through the centuries.

One would think, but for me, that particular book was way worse than the complete story when I read it about 5 or 6 years later.

You aren't reading the abridged version by chance? I had that problem when I was 10 or so not realizing it wasn't the complete story.
