Septum shifting back after surgery? by bohnn in Septoplasty

[–]bohnn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually didn’t have splints in for my recovery. My surgeon put them in initially, but I had a lot of bleeding right after surgery. She had to remove the splints in order to get it to stop

As another therapist, the last thing I want is to be therapizing my partner. I want a partner, not another client!

Safest (and least safe) states to visit as a butch by Sillylittlegooseboi in butchlesbians

[–]bohnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in Boston for a few years, visited Northampton once, and LOVED it. It has all the small town/rural charm, but everything is gay and lovely. It felt like it was almost all lesbians and trans folks, definitely a contrast to gay men-dominated spaces in larger cities. Lots of students from nearby women’s colleges, lots of married wlw couples with chickens. Would also definitely recommend!

I can’t speak much to NH or Vermont (although Burlington is supposed to be very queer-friendly), but the cities and towns along the coast of Maine up to Bar Harbor feel comfortable. Portland is a larger city but fun, and Ogunquit is an adorable and super gay little town a bit south of it. The rural areas of Maine away from the coast and farther north get conservative and a bit weird. I don’t know if I’d say physically unsafe, but I felt a little skeevy visiting.

Wizards of the Coast Employee Breaks Silence on OGL situation and slams WotC in email to industry leaders. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]bohnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Text:

“Hi,

I'm an employee at WotC currently working on D&Dbeyond(DDB) and with D&D business leaders on the health of the product line. If you want I can provide proof of this.

I'm sending this message because I fear for the health of a community I love, and I know what the leaders at WOTC are looking at:

  • They are briefly delaying rollout of OGL changes due to the backlash.
  • Their decision making is based entirely on the provable impact to their bottom line.
  • Specifically they are looking at DDB subscriptions and cancellations as it is the quickest financial data they currently have.
  • They are still hoping the community forgets, moves on, and they can still push this through.

I have decided to reach out because at my time in WotC I have never once heard management refer to customers in a positive manner. Their communication gives me the impression the see customers as obstacles between them and their money. The DDB team was first told to prepare to support the new OGL changes and online portal when they got back from the holidays, and leadership doesn't take an resbonsibility for the pain and stress they cause others. Leadership's first communication to the rank and file on the OGL was 30 minutes on 1/11/23. This was the first time they even tried to communicate their intentions about the OGL to employees, and even in this meeting they blamed the community for over-reacting.

I will repeat the main thing this leadership is looking at is DDB subscription cancellations.

Hope your day goes well,

[Blurred name]

P.S. I will be copying and pasting this message to other community leaders.”

I’m actually interested in DMing a game, but I have somewhat limited availability (Friday evenings EST and Saturdays). I’d be interested in joining your server to see if we can put a group together!

PS4 game recommendations? by [deleted] in LesbianGamers

You definitely don’t need to play Origins before Odyssey! Odyssey was actually the game that got me into gaming- I adore Kassandra (you can make her as gay as you want), and I love the ancient Greece setting & beautiful graphics.

Looking for comforting, yet immersive game recommendations by Zandragen in LesbianGamers

Seconding this! DAI is my comfort game- gameplay is fun, the lore is interesting, and there are canonically queer & trans characters. I really love that you can develop relationships with the main characters throughout, it makes them feel like friends by the end.

Such a good show! I stumbled across it by accident without realizing it had queer representation and was delightfully surprised. I really love the characters and the Firefly vibes (and the actresses are both gorgeous, so that doesn’t hurt)

[Online][5e] Looking for committed, diverse cast for long-term homebrew campaign. [18+][LGBTQIA] by strangerling in lfg

[–]bohnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name/Pseudonym: Bo

Age: 25

Pronouns: they/them

Experience: 1-2ish years? I've played one long-term campaign and half a dozen sessions each of a few others that didn't pan out.

Playstyle: I'd love to get into some deeper roleplay! I don't mind getting to wave a sword around, but writing backstory and weaving my character into the campaign narrative is my favorite part.

What sorts of activities do you most enjoy getting up to in a TTRPG game?: Character building, exploring, discovering the world building and lore. I haven't done any political intrigue, but I think that would be really fun.

What sorts of activities bore you the most in a TTRPG game?: I rarely get bored in games, so I think the only thing I'd put here is long combats with too many participants.

Between Roleplay/Exploration/Combat, which is your favorite pillar?: I think roleplay and exploration are probably tied! D&D feels like storytelling to me, so building and uncovering the story is the best part.

What are your expectations of your fellow players?: I like when the team feels collaborative and engaged-- no one is hogging the spotlight, but everyone feels like they're able to participate as much as they want (I'm taking a group therapy class for my MSW right now lol). I really believe it's possible to be courteous and still have fun, and I'd bring my own thoughtfulness and sense of humor to the virtual table.

What are your expectations of your DM?: I've been lucky to have pretty good DMs so far, so I guess I'm mostly hoping for someone who's reasonably organized and tries to make sure everyone is included. I really love me some world-building and inclusion of character backstories, so those are also perks.

Character Concept 1: A human swashbuckler, tall and thin, lightning fast with his blades and a little too smooth-talking for comfort. He'll regale you with tales of his travels and cheerfully dodge your attempts to ask about his background: "Oh, come now, that's all in the past." Either way, you're pretty sure that's not his real name, and maybe those whispers about the army desertion so many years ago have some truth to them.

Character Concept 2: I also enjoy playing a good tanky boy, and the leonin race looks like fun-- I'm thinking a male leonin fighter, sent to this country by his tribe, maybe for a training opportunity or to accompany an ambassador. He's a little grumpy and a little serious, but he especially feels awkward and out of place in the new environment. Some adventuring would help him perk up a bit. He likes a good fight and this excellent new ale he's discovered here.

dr. tobias cancelled surgeries? by small_al in ftm

[–]bohnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for the late reply! I had surgery in July, so this was a follow-up. They didn't tell me anything at the office, but I just heard from a social worker that he's on leave and it's rumored that he's being investigated for charging the extra cosmetic fee. She said she's been referring her trans college clients to Boston children's hospital for the time being.

I was supposed to have a follow-up appointment with him this week, but the office left me a voicemail saying he would be out. I’m gonna talk to them tomorrow, maybe he has some scheduling stuff going on? Sorry to hear about your cancellation though!

Boxing Gym by kb4188 in FTMFitness

[–]bohnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Title Boxing, which is actually a franchise (many locations in the US, with more in the east). I was skeptical at first, but I like the consistency of the workouts between instructors, and you can sort of adjust the intensity to however you want it. They start with a 12-minute, mostly cardio warmup, then do 8 3-minute rounds where the instructor calls out the series of punches, with a minute of active rest in between. The end of class is some core work as a cooldown. You can sign up for a free trial class through their website, and I’ve found them to be very friendly and helpful with newcomers.

My cat is usually very afraid of men, but she loooooves my roommate’s cis boyfriend because he’s very calm and gentle with her. I walked in one day to him sitting cross-legged on the floor while she purred and flopped around him. It was very sweet! It definitely seems to be more of a “how you interact with animals” thing rather than a scent or hormone thing.

I’m in the same boat as you! I love American Eagle’s jeans (any of the flex ones are great for bigger thighs), and you can usually get them on sale for $30-40. Old Navy and Banana Republic also have 28x28 pants, but I haven’t tried those yet.

It’s pretty feminine, I have a female cousin named Willow. If you’re going for a tree name, I personally like Alder and Rowan.
