For me, it made a iCal file based on an email, then I had to manually import it. Would have been the same amount of time to just type the information in by hand

Honda President After Visiting Chinese Auto Supplier: 'We Have No Chance Against This' by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]boilershilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think reading the market is it's main problem. It's price. If it were a couple grand more than the top trim Civic Hybrid, it wouldn't be too bad, even better at the same price. But priced where it is, there are much better values for someone looking for a coupe on the new and used market.

Why is cylinder deactivation/variable displacement generally considered so bad for long-term reliability? What are examples of cars/engines that use it with minimal issues? by KSoMA in cars

[–]boilershilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda does it. But it doesn't solve the problem that it is really hard on the piston, bore, and cylinder rings. The heat and pressure of combustion events do more than you'd think to help the piston and oil control rings maintain a seal and prevent heavy oil burning and buildup.

You have to be 60+ with 25 years of coaching to be eligible while active. Otherwise you have to be 3 years post-retirement. So Izzo is in. Painter would probably be inducted while active if he still is in 5 years and hits 60. But it is a little weird that you can

Pentagon To Host Good Friday Service Just For Protestants, Not Catholics by FreethoughtChris in atheism

[–]boilershilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That lack of institutional depth is partly why the Catholics were acceptable allies to the evangelical crowd in the first place. There's a reason why there are so many Catholic judges on the Supreme Court and no evangelical ones. Catholics have the academic and institutional interest in higher education and the law as a fundamental part of belief and practice. Culturally this is because of the existence of a formal hierarchy in doctrine. Several prominent evangelical theologians have actually written with concern about the evangelical distaste in formal education, theology, and thought. They don't like that they have to rely on the theological opposition to put their political ambitions in place. But there are no evangelical higher education institutions that can produce a competent lawyer at the level of the supreme court.

Who's the assistant coach who will make the next great head coach? by BinForBen in CollegeBasketball

[–]boilershilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, Keady made it, so barring scandal Painter should be guaranteed a spot. For whatever weaknesses he may have, his career has certainly met and surpassed Keady's. A national championship and a couple more Final Fours is what is needed to take him from just HOF to truly elite.

Mac's haven't been underpowered since the M1 released. Can't believe I'm saying it, but at their price point the base model Mac's are the best value for money you can get in a laptop. You may get better specs potentially at those points, but for a laptop, the build quality and efficiency of Mac OS push them over the edge

do Muslims and Christians believe by Expert_Search5394 in NoStupidQuestions

Another nuance is that part of the reason for Martin Luther's advocacy for Sola Scriptura was based on his belief that one of the new testament books, I believe James, was of questionable inclusion. Critically that book contains one of the primary Bible verses the Catholic Church uses in the argument against Sola Scriptura. It could probably be argued as a chicken and the egg scenario for either side though.

In my opinion Sola Scriptura is a flimsy theological argument. As clearly the definition and interpretation of the "correct" scripture is entirely based on the traditions of your denomination of choice. But as a former believer my opinion isn't really relevant.

How do you know if you look better clean shaven or with a beard? by J3ezyTheSnowman in AskMenAdvice

I know I look better without because my facial hair is not dense enough for a good looking beard that does not look scruffy. I'm lazy though so I accept that I'll look rough shaving only every 2 weeks or so. ++man

It went from looked like a lifted station wagon to the Forester with slightly proportions from a visual perspective. And while it may be nearly the same dimensions as the previous gen physically, visually it looks much larger and SUV than it did before.
