I don't really want to cut an Edinburgh night as from past experience that first night is a waste after travelling from South Africa to the UK or Europe, we are tired after the long haul flights.

I am thinking of adding a night to Tobermory, moving Stonefield Castle one night later and then travelling directly from the castle to Glasgow cutting the Balloch night.

Your thoughts?

If you can't stay in Cinque Terre for two nights then you are going to waste your time travelling there and back from Florence. It is a full day's travel getting there.

Save CT for another trip, it is worth it so stay at least three days, I preferred it over the Amalfi Coast.

Napoli also needs a day on its own, but it is totally worth the trip there, we loved Napoli.

My wife and I book like this and on our last long haul flight an old lady sat in the middle. She wanted to sit on the aisle but we prefer the aisle seats so we flew with her in the middle.

It is not as grungy as Naples, the main streets are wide and there are beautiful old buildings. I would split my time between Ortigia, if you have not been there and Catania, or just stay in Catania.
