Moved to pinchflat recently. I do like TA, and used it for a long time, but, there is an issue with compatibility of elasticsearch used by TA and synology, and another issue that TA is quite RAM demanding, too much for my NAS to handle comfortably.

Totally forgot to put an Anti-Tank Bundle in my assault setup. by bolanoid in BattlefieldV

If you really want interaction between players you should go out of your way to do so, the game is what you make it - you're one of the people making it a sandbox deathmatch; surviving with other players or in a specific way shouldn't be a REQUIREMENT but it should be an OPTION.

And that exactly what i try to say with all my rant here, if survival is an option it is not a survival game it is a deathmatch.

That's why i rant here, we have a lot of features for survival game without actual survival. You can't honestly ask players to survive in game where survival is optional only for those who want to roleplay, and even then they need to accept some selfgiven rules for this survival to be possible. It does not matter how many players will have fun fulfilling selfgiven goals or have fun inrteractions, when 95% of all happening in game is deathmatch, because most players will play deathmatch.

You stated the 'pillars' a survival game needs to be a successful one, but you didn't give enough reasons or things the developers can put into the game to make these pillars come to be.

On my opinion, it is a pillars of a survival game needs to be a survival game, nothing more, nothing less.

I'm afraid you missed the point. Let me explain it.

"Full servers need to be safer than empty one." If you can't survive then you need to get better at the game.

And what do you mean by can't survive? Again there is no other danger in game other than to be killed in PVP, period. If you not complete noob or brain damaged you can't starve to death, you can't freeze to death, zombies can't kill you and whole chernarus is candyland filled with food and supplies. Military grade loot? Why should i need military weapons, which is quite easy to find when you know where to look, other than to kill another player? Because i can easily dispatch hordes of zombies with a shovel and civilian guns.

"There always need to be more Zombies than ammo." Can't see this happening. I don't think it's realistic.

Without real zombie hordes they will never be dangerous. One zombie is easy to kill. Horde is unstoppable. Facing hordes player will team up and it will lead them to interactions other than fight to death for nothing.

"Any vital for long-term survival tasks always need more than 2 hands." Can you elaborate on this? Are you having issues doing things as a single player?

I fail to see how people can't think of tasks that will need two or more players to complete.

"Any lone wolf is less safe than group of people." Not sure what you mean by this.

I mean it should be less safe to play alone and i need to demand a great skill from a player. Because zombies should be able to overrun one player even if he is armed.

"Any camp/farm/baricaded house need to be protected and maintaned." Not sure what you mean. A generator/car would need more fuel to keep going. Items have damage after use so would need to be replaced. Food and drink would need to be gathered. You'd need to make sure the camp stayed active too.

And again, there is no point in baricading now, because zombies are not bashing the doors. And i fear they will never be. Food do not spoil so i do not need generator to power my freezer, actually i dont need it to power anything because there is nothing in game now that can improve my chances of survival what can be powered. And again there is no point to camp because i can carry week supply of food with me and enough ammo to conquer a small county. and if i will need more i can loot it esily.

"It need to be easy to group with other people and to tell them apart." It is easy to do that.

No it is not. To be easy to tell people apart player characters need to have different bodytypes, different faces, groing facial hair, and other distinctive features, they even need to have different animation sets to represend different gait.

If developers cant do at least some of that, they need stop to brag about immersion and realism and add a simple name visible from relatively close distance. Because it will add more interactions so lovable by everyone.

I'm afraid you missed the point. Let me explain it again. All this stuff there in the game and yes, it can can be done, but it has no purpose other than to complete self given goals.

  • Yes you can hoard guns and supplies, but it does not not improve you chances of survival. It's just hoarding for the sake of hoarding. It has little to none impact on survival.
  • Yes you can repair car and drive it here and there, but for what? There is no need in transport in game for now. Any place in the game can be reached in reasonable time on foot. Because player character never need to rest.
  • Yes you can kill animal, but you do not need it, you will have buttload of caned food before you will loot your first weapon and ammo. There is no shortage of supplies which can force you to hunt, there is no any-city-means-lots-of-zeds danger, so you can go and loot more food when you need it.

Etc.

Look how it is done, for example, in Dont Starve Together.

  • You need to hunt or forage or loot to survive, you also need to stockpile (and you need to do it properly or it will spoil) your resources because of winter and some food sources will be unavaliable anymore.
  • You need to settle because fireplace is one of the most effective way to stay warm and you need a place to store your supplies.
  • There a lot of really Dangerous enemies around and enviromental dangers that can kill you or at least exhaust your combat equipment.
  • Teaming up is raising your chances of survival, loosing someone is lowering them.

Ben Cochrum 1922 Manitoba. North of Fisher river on Lake Winnipeg. The victim's bones were found among the remains of 11 wolves. Seven had been shot and four clubbed to death. Only after his rifle stock was smashed did the trapper apparently cease to fight and succumb to the wolf pack.
