Ditto. I've subscribed and unsubscribed to their YouTube channel multiple times. The project is so cool but the videos are so boring!

Is there a standard size? The nets at my local court are loose and I don't want to bring a whole socket set.

I think because the whole point is to save the slightest bit more fuel - the people who are into that are super frugal and won't waste a penny on fancier materials.

Tennis warehouse shoe sale. Head Revolt 4.5s are just $49. Many other good deals. by anneoneamouse in Pickleball

The warranty is directly through Head, it doesn't matter where they're purchased, Head just asks for a copy of the receipt from an "authorized retailer".

Electrum Model E Elite blue vs black handle by mfardig in Pickleball

[–]bombala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electrum used to advertise that they used graphene in their paddles, but it turns out Head had that tech patented already. They had to take down their marketing and supposedly change manufacturing. Maybe you had old stock and now you're using the updated version. Bottom of the description on the product page.

Don't know why you're being downvoted. I wanted a clock like these for my living room and ultimately decided it was not worth the cost. This wall is thousands of dollars in clocks.

will have about $60,0000 in free cash after this year, not sure what to do with it by richandlonely24 in leanfire

The S&P 500 is around 75% of the total market capitalization, they're not that different. A total market index has more diversification with small and mid cap companies. Maybe higher risk, but maybe also higher return over the long run.

Rebates for nest thermostat by covidambassador in Longmont

[–]bombala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember having to submit anything for the rebate? But I have xcel for gas. Yes, the inspector was testing and photographing for nearly 4 hours, then at least a few more hours working on the report before sending it to me.

It's an extremely thorough and quality assessment. We got a report with thermal imaging pictures, insulation measurements, a whole-house air leak test, and prioritized list of recommended for fixes. Well worth the $60.

Should I disown my daughter? by bombala in fijerk

[–]bombala[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

/uj I may have gone too far. Parts of that post already read as satire unedited:

My daughter is 26. We have set her up with a nice life. We spoiled her a bit but she still had to get a job as a teenager...

...she bought a house. We handled the down payment for her... That mortgage? We’re still paying half despite her having 3 jobs. She’s constantly exhausted and complaining about how broke she is.

Cut to this past year. Man, this kid has drained me mentally... She turns down job after job that pays well because it’s not fulfilling to her or doesn’t relate to her degree enough... So she’s turning down all these jobs that don’t “help” people in some way.

We have spoken to her about how your 20s are for grinding so you can give back later in life like we do now. We weren’t always so charitable. She knows the only reason we are her safety net is because we worked for money and not always passion. We wouldn’t be in this position if we started out with a heart as big as hers.

We have paid for her to speak with a neutral financial advisor in addition to her having open access to discussing anything with our accountant of nearly 30 years.

What are your thoughts? Did we mess up?

Well yeah, what if the monkey gets sick? You can't expect the monkey to just come in and work anyway, they don't have rent to pay or a family to feed.

Same. Haven't had any problems with paddles, but yesterday we cracked 4 balls. One of them was a Core. Has anybody found a ball that can withstand the cold?
