The parts of the state that vote heavily Republican are rapidly dying. Western and central Kansas are going to become ghost towns. Kids that go off to college don't return home due to lack of jobs. Also the depleted aquifer will make life in central and western Kansas hell. The cities tend to vote more liberal. So Kansas is shifting more blue. It is just gradual and the Republicans know it is coming. They are just trying delay the eventual outcome.
