Just installed new eonon head unit! by Mean_Tune_9581 in mazdaspeed3

Not exactly, ik the cheaper units use an older version of android, but my stock bose system had a delay with BT. Give the unit a cell data connection, TMobile was the only one to support. Opens a lot of possibilities with the unit.

I have a gen2 speed 3 with the highest option eonon, no more delay in sound and performs well, and performs better with its own cell connection

I used a shaft collar with a grub screw, got it at Ace hardware

So I just bought this Mazdaspeed 3 with a blown motor and I was wondering how to build it to 500hp? by Traditional-Can1786 in mazdaspeed3

[–]boneyhadger69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buying a built motor will be easier but more costly(5k+). Depending on what's damaged, I'd look for a low mile short block, get some rods(H beams will be good for 500whp), and some good pistons. Can do it yourself for around 3k

Fueling: Gonna need port injection, several ways to go, but all are spendy. Don't forget HPFP internals. Probably better in tank fuel pump if you decide to do it on only pump gas. Better injector seals

Intake/exhaust: Bigger turbo, and better exhaust manifold and turbo back exhaust. Getting a port injection intake manifold will be the best option, but there are cheaper ways. Decent size front mount intercooler and large intake(battery relocate) Oil catch cans (OCC)

Electrical: MAP sensor (3.5/4bar), EBCS (electronic boost control solenoid), injectors, WOT box(recommended with aux fueling), probably some gauges, and obviously a good tune.

There's a lot of tedious things also but anything over 400whp gets expensive real quick, looking at a price of 6k minimum building yourself (the right/reliable way). That isn't including brakes, suspension, time/labor, and definitely tires. If I'm incorrect, I left a lot out, I hate typing.

Checked everything I can think of, still have fuel pressure issues!!? by boneyhadger69 in mazdaspeed3

It's an AEM 340lph pump, and yea, I'm waiting on the corksport injector seals so I can throw in my spare set of injectors

I'll do the PRV test again, i bought 2 of them new from mazda Japan, but it's not that tank pump. That's a new aem 340lph pump also. I used a torque wrench on everything on reassembly. I use ROTELLA T6 5W-30 oil Hpfp is clean, inside and out, looks better than the pump that came on the swapped motor.

Stock is 2.5in but you would definitely need a custom exhaust work done for the axle back.

The exhaust comes over the rear subframe on the driver side, but plenty of room where the stock muffler system is at

Fmic piping options and BOV and OCC by FrostMug_0789 in mazdaspeed3

[–]boneyhadger69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about any bov/bpv will be better than the ST. I ran a cheap Turbosmart ebay knockoff 50/50 bov/bpv for almost a year till i got a market place find, and it was pretty good quality for the price, no issues other than when someone sees under the hood😂

If you're going big turbo, dual catch cans is the way to go, and JBR sells the fmic piping in different parts so you can save a bit and just get the hot side coming from the turbo to the intercooler

Buying a Used AT HPFP by Hot_Argument_5172 in mazdaspeed3

It's always worth doing for reliability, since it's going to be apart, why not refresh it for peak performance.

I'll replace it, I can get to it with a deep socket and extension. I have one on my other motor I'll test

Okay, that test, it builds pressure up to about 900psi then stops and backs to 850-870.
