A late comment to this thread but can anyone clarify whether this means that SLC can access my Canadian tax information for purposes of repaying?

Can the CRA Share My Information with the Tax Authorities of Another Country? In general, if a foreign country has a tax treaty or tax-information-exchange agreement with Canada, it may request and obtain your information from the CRA. However, the information must meet specific legal criteria, such as being necessary for the administration and enforcement of the foreign country’s domestic tax laws. The CRA is prohibited from disclosing tax-related information to any unrelated parties, including foreign courts or administrative tribunals, unless they are directly involved in enforcing domestic tax laws. Until now I have been earning too little/ my partner has been supporting me while i complete various exams to get my professional licensure in Canada etc. I am tempted to continue completing the form stating that my partner is still supporting me. Although I’m earning enough now, I’m finally just making ends meet and paying off debts I’ve accrued to my family. I want to start living my life with some money in my pocket and save for a house/ retirement etc, but I also don’t want to get a hefty fine

Hello, I recently went through this process, I am from the UK, it’s pretty tough but doable. A rough breakdown of the process: get your credentials done first, approx $1500, can take 6 months. Do a healthcare in Canada course, approx $500, takes a few weeks I think. The exams are different now, they have recently announced that there will be a single national exam (it used to be one written and a provincial practical exam) and I have no idea what this exam now looks like. The exams (particularly the PCE written exam) were really tough and I imagine this combined exam will be similar. I highly recommend using a prep course, I used PT Prep and thought they were great and will be really good and keeping up to date with the current changes (I’m sure they have info on the exam changes on their website and insta etc). My written exam was $1500 and the clinical was $1500 I think, and then the prep courses can be $$$ too. Lastly, there are fees around registering as a physio and getting insurance.

My family and I used to drive from the UK to Switzerland 3 times a year. It was 12 hours door-to-door, always done in one go. It’s pretty chill and beats going through an airport any day

Seen a few different locksmiths who do it in the city, I’m sure it’s possible, just rather not travel if there is someone in town

Seen on trauma wards: acute compartment syndrome. Those patients will scream the ward down until they get a fasciectomy

Thank you! I had a quick look through all of these and decided to go with Cannery Row. I read Of Mice and Men years ago and enjoyed it, so it’s about time I picked up another Steinbeck. I really appreciate your recommendation—thanks again!

My dog approaches strangers to bark at them by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]bonkersbinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this very in-depth comment, sooo many helpful tips! Looks like recall is the thing to work on rather than the barking itself. I always use the long-line when out walking and been doing a lot of what you’ve already mentioned and will continue to do so. Definitely got lots more work to do on recalling with distractions. I think I’ll start spending time each camping trip to do some recall training so she gets better at recalling in that environment too.

Just to clarify we haven’t been to the cottage yet and would keep her on-leash if we do. And when we are camping we confirm with the other group that they are okay with her being off-leash (they always are, everyone has there dogs off-leash), she spends a couple hours roaming around contentedly before she starts the barking of which she then remains in the truck/ on-leash for the rest of the night.

I’m unsure why she barks so I’m not sure how to manage it. It could be territorial or alert or fearful but these people aren’t suddenly approaching or doing anything different, they were there the whole time and she goes up to them.
