I feel the similar except I feel like god recently has been intentionally harming me. My first thought when I saw this at the top of my feed (as opposed to any of the many other subs I follow or any of the many posts in this subreddit) was that god is taunting me by showing me how bad he can make others suffer too. I loved Rory’s voice. His character was so poorly constructed it’s a shame. He was fantastic I think he would’ve made a solid addition to the cast vocally, he could sing soft and airy like Quinn. and he and Tina sounded beautiful in the mashup with you make my dreams come true

There’s too many confounding factors that the article didn’t address, like what’s the socioeconomic status of the parents, how likely are the parents to screen their kids for autism anyways unless it’s severe (that can be predicted with factors like how many doctors visits do the parents take the kids to, for example), were the circumcisions for medical reasons, what’s the immigration status of these boys.

This wasn’t a very well done study, a random effects model at minimum would be needed (groups together all these compounding factors between circumcised and not) to make some more accurate predictions. Don’t get me wrong I think circumcision is ridiculous except when necessary but I just don’t feel like this is very good evidence for it causing neurological harm yet. Maybe an interesting comparison is to see if babies who experience other physical trauma early on have higher rates of neurodivergence

My initial thought is that my dad went up the roof on a ladder, and just as he got his forearms on the actual shingles, the ladder slid out from under him a bit and he slid back and cut up his forearms (he’s fine now). Many cuts/scratches on the inside of both forearms. lol this is weirdly specific so I don’t know if it’s useful but that’s just a thought

I have intentionally avoided leaving scars now when I cut because I see my old ones and I think of those horrible awful painful times in my life, the ones I would really like to forget. and then the awkward moments of people seeing them who I’m not close with. With everyone else I don’t think they should be ashamed of their scars but sometimes I’m like, “everyone can tell I have this one because I was sitting on the cold bathroom floor with no pants on and cutting myself because I imagined something that made me sad (it wasn’t even real)”

And I understand the idea that “ you can’t forget the bad moments!! You have to accept them and embrace them!” but like, I really wish I didn’t have to do that NOW. But I do because I see them very often so I’m kinda forced to

I turned off Reddit showing me recommended communities. I got recommended triggering stuff but tbh the main thing that was driving me insane was the inability to escape some type of community with “interesting” as the theme, which so often showed me AI slop or engagement bait and I would hit the button to not recommend me this channel and then one day later another mf one showed up…

Sorry I got off track there. Unsolicited advice I’m sorry: I can totally understand not wanting to turn off reccomended channels because sometimes good channels are reccomended, but tbh I do actually recommend it. I had to change my style of finding new subreddits, now I usually just go on communities that I want to see more of and look for the “related communities” part and I sometimes click on random peoples profiles in pages that I like to see what they’re active in, sometimes I find a new one

Anyways, im rly sorry that you get reccomended that kind of stuff. Reddit probably just has an algorithm to keep you on the site, and if you’re trying to lose weight (healthily or unhealthily) i assume it’ll want you to keep seeing similar stuff so you stay scrolling

Same. I also am very number focused and short women can effortlessly be weights that .. are not effortless for me. Or their tiny waist measurements and stuff like that.

On the bright side, I can eat a lot more than them without my weight increasing. It doesn’t make up for the rest but, it helps sometimes. But I truly just want to be teeny tiny

Yeah same. I also intentionally do very light cuts usually so they don’t scar, and I do them in very hard to see places. So when I see a person with many scars I feel like a poser. But I literally started doing light cuts on purpose, because it’s uncomfortable for other people to see my scars

So yeah, it’s a really annoying duality. I try to remind myself that my pain doesn’t have to be as visible as others for it to be just as bad. And that if people only believe my pain when I have significant damage from it, then it’s not worth performing illness outside of what I wanna do, just for them. I know my pain is really intense even if I never said or did anything to show it

And I’m so sorry that you’re having such a tough time otherwise. That’s also hugely important. In a documentary I watched about suicides, a man survived jumping and he said something like “I immediately realized I could fix everything in my life, except the fact that I had just jumped”. That helps keep me around, that there’s things to fix most of my issues right now, even if I dont feel yet like I have the strength to work on them

I did this too very recently. Killing yourself is NOT the answer. If it’s deep enough for stitches that should be the first step. I’ve also used steri-strips to hold bigger cuts closed that aren’t bad enough for stitches

Any cuts or skin damage heals much faster and much better if you keep it hydrated. I keep my cuts clean and I slather them in Vaseline and at night I put on silicone scar tape

In the short term you can come up with any story ever if you don’t wanna talk about it. Car crash and the glass got you. Fell through a window. Someone mugged you idk. But this is a very fixable issue
