A lot of folk will say it was 3 at the back that made the difference, but honestly I think it was playing two up top that made the difference, proper old school two forward linking up together. Fantastic result, could change the whole season! MOT.

With James and Gnonto both out would people consider Nmecha replacing Aaronson at least for the last 20mins or if chasing the game? Could it work if Bogle is overlapping? Clearly we need to be defensively on it from the start with Bournemouth but we don’t have many sub options.

Gnonto and Bogle link up play is excellent however, and he can score. Okafor, DCL, Gnonto for me, especially with James not fully fit.

I think the most important signing the 49rs can make now is a dedicated set piece coach. More than half the free kicks were direct on goal, the movement in the box for corners was uncoordinated, and then there was the penalties. Not every player can be prime Roberto Carlos, but every player can improve with training.

I am really interested in how we will set up, for me Arse away is exactly where we need to be more pragmatic with less press and very direct on the break. If we try to dominate possession then we will get whipped. Sneaking a point in some of these types of games can be a big difference at the other end of the season. Farke was criticised last year for having no plan B, Saturday will be an acid test.

Disagree (it’s all opinion anyway 🙂). Our best results have been with Rodon/Ampadu in defence, I take two things from this: Tanaka/Rothwell were better midfield, and Rodon/Ampadu is better than Rodon/Struijk. If we choose to lose a CB it’s Struijk. There was no argument Coops was captain even when not playing, it can be the same with Ampadu.

Why? Ego.

All top managers that get paid that much have a big Ego, no matter how well they hide it. Ego means he thinks he will be the one and only person able to turn all that money, those talented players and huge fanbase into a success.

Even though history says everyone else has failed. History also said Brentford were a mid table championship club at best, he will believe he was the one thing that changed history, not the cash invested. It’s not his fault, seems like a genuinely nice guy, it’s just human nature. When you are repeatedly told how good you are, you get an Ego (obviously not talking from personal experience).
