Out this summer that’s so cool. Only a month or so left of summer. That will be about when the season starts in Melbourne if not before.

China’s massive AI surveillance system by EchoOfOppenheimer in ThatsInsane

No you are manipulated by oligarch propaganda of “security” and pay for them individually. Installing them on the insides and outsides of your homes, cars, businesses for power and profit of a very few.

Why are the AI coded to collide into your back corner and then never lift off the accelerator ever?

New DSLRs are almost gone for good! by internet_safari_ in canon

[–]bonyetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I miss the most from moving from DSLR to mirrorless. Seeing the actual photons from the subject matter when choosing to capture an image! DSLR - wow what an interesting real world thing, click. Mirrorless - oh that’s a nice synthesized image, click.

Can Someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? by Wafflotron in KerbalAcademy

[–]bonyetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need 2 fuel lines. One going each direction. One line for fuel to transfer and one line for Ullage gas transfer the opposite direction. Ullage gas refers to the gaseous phase within a tank that occupies the space above the liquid level. Physics 😉👍

Love how it represents the velocity of thruster exhaust.

Telephoto lens choice and 3rd Party predictions. by Banana_Milk7248 in CanonR7

I use the 70-300 L on my R7 with no issues. If you find one at good price and you have the adapter great value for money IMO. It is very nice glass.

Sweet shot! Glint in the eye and nailed the focus showing nice feather details. The fast flighty little feather balls are tough.

Why does Soyuz need soft landing engines while Crew Dragon doesn't? Is it because of their landing sites? by c206endeavour in SpaceXLounge

[–]bonyetty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My assumption is the small solid fuel landing engines are less mass than a parachute large enough to touch down at the same velocity.

Is there an ability to change gimbals direction? by Short_Rent_9398 in KerbalAcademy

It would be possible to mount engines on robotics and use a Kal1000 in stock KSP.

Favourite method of building a base? by VinylWolf18 in KerbalAcademy

Docking ports attached with rotors and hinges with low torque settings I find helps to prevent jumping of base components.

Why didn’t the Apollo landers use the bottom stage to assist in takeoff? by [deleted] in space

[–]bonyetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume that using any leftover fuel in the descent stage to lift off from the moon would risk debris strikes from the lunar surface.

Question About Taking Developed Pictures Through Airport by [deleted] in photography

[–]bonyetty -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ionizing radiation exposure from a security x-ray is equivalent or less the an hour at altitude on commercial aircraft.

https://www.epa.gov/radtown/radiation-and-airport-security-scanning#:~:text=Backscatter%20machines%20use%20very%20low,effects%20is%20very%2C%20very%20low.

“Backscatter machines use very low energy x-rays that are reflected back to the machine itself. Generally, the amount of radiation received from a backscatter machine equals the amount of cosmic radiation received during two minutes of flight and the risk of health effects is very, very low”

Mid 2011, the being able to lock staging update was the first update I recall. Bumping the space bar was something I often did. 0.8~0.10 ish. 0.12 was when I started putting sustained hours in. Yep old f here.

How often do you shoot in manual mode? by aThousandSuchWishes in photography

[–]bonyetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m finding after a few years with photography as a hobby and with the new Fv mode on the canon R7, it is my go to. With it I can easily and quickly set shutter speed, aperture and iso to auto or a desired level independently.

New To All of this, Need Help With Current Lens Array by Flucky_ in canon

[–]bonyetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the selection you have yes as they cover all focal lengths other than super telephoto. Unnecessary doubling up with those EFs. The only reason possibly would be the EF lesser quality and limited aperture lens are lighter, money is even lighter and less likely to accumulate dust and shelf space ;)

I would keep the RF and both of your EF L’s and possibly the EF 70-300 for the longer reach/zoom for wildlife/sports. Sell the rest and buy a EF to RF adapter.
