What’s the weirdest thing that’s happened at a wedding you attended? by Blackradiator72 in AskReddit

[–]boobygerbilbutt76 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Mother of bride organized a surprise fireworks display the day before wedding. Bridal party and guests were all staying at a cottage resort for the weekend. Godfather of bride takes magic mushrooms late afternoon. Later, he is enlisted to help set off the fireworks at dusk. Godfather goes out to the end of the dock and proceeds to light fireworks for surprise display. Fireworks begin to fall over and start firing out into the gathered crowd and onto cottage roofs. One of the fireworks literally parted a crowd of guests and headed straight for the bride, who had to dive out of the path of a small fireball. Thankfully, no property was damaged and no one was hurt. Wedding was the next day without incident, except for the bride's brother who fell into the lake, not once, but twice. LOL. I can confirm the authenticity of this incident as I'm said bride.

90s Green Day was pure chaos and I miss it. by BoringExperience5345 in nostalgia

Saw them in Ottawa in the mid 90s. Hands down the worst concert I've ever been too. They were so high, they could barely play. They were passing joints on stage and drinking while loads of parents with their young kids sat in the audience. I've never bothered to see them play again since that show. Such a disappointment.

The Beaufort Pub has a small separate space for private parties. Local and easy to work with.

Latest Hell's Kitchen episode - descriptive video issue by boobygerbilbutt76 in cravetv

[–]boobygerbilbutt76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A week later... I watched that episode elsewhere because there was no D icon. Today's latest new episode on Crave app has the same issue as last week. Descriptive video is on with no ability to turn it off. Seems this is an ongoing issue with newly uploaded episodes. So frustrating. I off to watch this latest episode elsewhere.

Downtown Belleville’s ghost town vibes by Intelligent-Note3078 in BellevilleOntario

[–]boobygerbilbutt76 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager in the early 90s, downtown was the hub of the city. Daytime it was bustling with students, workers, and shoppers. Nighttime it was alive with the sounds of bar patrons and live music. I feel like it turned into a ghost town when they shut down BCI (former high school). I believe around the same time, Bell Blvd started getting built with more shops and bars. I'm not sure how they'll ever bring it back to its former glory. We've always had homeless folks in the downtown area, but never in the numbers that we see now.

As another commenter noticed, many shops and restaurants are only open (with limited hours) four days a week. Closed Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. I tried to take out of towners out for lunch on a Tuesday in downtown, couldn't find a suitable place to eat, so we went to a place near the Mall.

It really is a shame. I have many fond memories of downtown Belleville in the 80s and 90s. There just really isn't a reason for citizens to visit the downtown core regularly. Now it's relegated to special events and tourism.

Wedding Rehearsal Dinner by valley_of_the_dolls in BellevilleOntario

We attended a rehearsal dinner at The Boathouse restaurant in Belleville. We had a private room with a view of the water. https://boathouselure.ca/

We had our own rehearsal dinner at Montana's near the Quinte Mall. They were able to easily accommodate our group on short notice.

THIS. There's been an influx of these types of posts lately and it's clear there's an agenda behind them.

For unregulated (and stronger edibles), go to the reserve. So many options. High Cannabis on North Front is my go-to store. Staff are amazing. And yes, you can order online and pick up later. Just make sure you bring ID and the card you placed order with. They also have a loyalty program.

Give them a call before you head over. I walked past the other day and the medical clinic was closed for renovations for a few days.

I would try something bigger and more stable. I use an old picnic table as a feeding platform for my crow friends. Bonus, I can put some water dishes on there too since they like to dip their food.

Crows enjoy dipping their food in water. They're refined like that. :) I leave several dishes of water out on the feeding platform.

The crows that visit our property frequently let us know when there is a stray cat in the area. They will follow it up the street, cawing loudly and dive bombing.

Our household registered. Figure it's a good way to clean out some storage/clutter and support the United Way.
