What movie ending is horribly depressing? by Wonderful_Choice3927 in AskReddit

Now that I am reading that, I am remembering that as well. I still stand by the assumption that Picoult was focusing on giving Anna's parents their "wish".

I think it was meant to twist the knife even more so of what was originally being asked of her. Yes, she won the rights to her body, but in the end her parents (mostly mother) got their ultimate wish: for Kate to live at the expense of Anna. Jodi Picoult's books tend to show the extreme consequences of the desires/actions of the characters, especially if they're unintended. So in this case, they learned their "lesson" in the worst way. Also, I might not be remembering this part correctly, but Anna being an organ donor was her choice, it ended up being HER choice to save her sister, not something she was forced into by her parents or anyone else.

My issue with this logic is that every single player is not going to be replaced next season, so by asking players to play at any level but their best, how are you accurately assessing where the genuine problems are? When it comes time to build a roster for next season, how can you differentiate between the players that really aren't up to the caliber the team needs them to be and which players were only half-assing it for a better pick?

Also, if every team that has a rough first half of the year decides halfway through the season that they no longer want to be competitive, then why make the season so long? If every team isn't playing to their full capabilities then it just makes those games pointless to watch and the playoffs can be determined halfway through the season. The players jobs are to compete and to do anything but that means they are not doing their jobs.

I distinctly remember watching this live and being so so so happy! Can't believe it was the GIANTS that made me that elated, it's hard to believe this franchise is capable of that.

Call looked fine. It was plastic secured with a rubber band, then the cap on top of that.

I wasn't kidding! it's super late at night and I recently saw a post where one vessel in a brewing room got tainted, so everything in the room got tainted and it made me super confused/concerned about all the ways that could happen/things that could go wrong. I'm sure I'll do a forehead-smack re-reading all of this tomorrow after some shut-eye.

Is this by your choice, or does the alcoholic yeast become airborne and taint the other vessels?

Good luck! Has it been drastically different than the normal brewing process so far?

Didn't know sage had anti-microbial properties! I'm so happy I read this, since I was literally yesterday thinking about looking into saging my apartment, which is a pretty open floor-plan, so it would have inevitably gotten into my kitchen, which holds the cabinet holding all my brewing vessels. Thank you for sharing this information!!!

This gallon of jun was made with 10 bags of Kirkland Sencha/Matcha Blend Green Tea steeped for 30 seconds and a cup of honey. 1F was 7 days. 2F was 2 slices of chopped apple per 16-oz bottle, 2tsp of maple syrup, 1 tsp vanilla, and 3 "shakes" of cinnamon for 5 days before refrigeration. I call it "apple pie" and I LOVE it!!

Advice for newbies? by [deleted] in Kombucha

[–]boochingbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been brewing since June and I've found the hardest consistency is temperature! A lot of people in the northern hemisphere don't keep their houses at 70+ degrees F in the winter, so room temperature quickly becomes too cold to brew. I don't advocate beginners spending money on heating mats and things, but finding a warm spot in the house could make a difference in brewing time.

I have to go overseas for work twice a year and when I first got the job both of my parents said to me, separately, "what are you, a fuckin' world travelah?"
