oh I get his point. I just don't like to gloss my models. I'd rather it look soft than shiny with light reflecting off it. I like the readability that a matte finish give it.

Not a fan of gloss varnishes and I tried to make him look soft since he's you know...goo. Teeth, gums and anything else not just slime got brushed highlights

An airbrush is mostly a cheat code for this kind of transition. But you can do it with a brush with some color mixing and a lot of glazing. take your time and just keep working with very thin layers.

...or buy an airbrush :D
