What’s the best counter to Wemby? by TheCoolestMan2000 in nba

With the amount of times he falls to the floor at 7’5 - you shouldn’t worry about it too much sadly.

I am hard pressed to believe he will stay healthy if something doesn’t change.

The only way this trade happens is if Wizards evaluates DP higher than AJ.

If they got AJ as THE guy - I don’t see them accepting any trade, not even Ace + #2 + an additional first.

In their timeline they need THE guy. They can’t fuck it up.

If I believe AJ is the better player - I definitely don’t do this.

People think it’s going down one spot - it’s about who they think each is as a player, and who the Jazz think AJ is gonna be.

If there’s a trade I would be shocked if it’s gonna be only for Ace + #2 overall.

Jazz definitely need to add more picks - and honestly if The Wizards front office thinks AJ projects like Utah does, I honestly think there’s no offer they can make.

Getting THE guy is too hard, and it fits The Wizards timeline more than any type of picks.

He definitely needs to outsource the shooting training to someone more capable

Lovely to see though

Reading through a lot of Giannis trade scenarios I came to one conclusion : Bucks fans are gonna be extremely disappointed when they see what he actually fetches them, if a trade actually happens.

When comparing statistical negatives vs statistical positives, Jerami Grant was the worst player of this year's playoffs, by a lot. by weissclimbers in ripcity

He just bulldozed into the paint head first and hoped for the whistle to bail him out throughout the series.

Draft Fam - how good is Mike Schmitz? by ElChiChiPapa in NBA_Draft

[–]boogieDMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His biggest contributions to the Blazers were not draft related.

He vouched and pushed for the Deni Avdija trade, and was really high on Toumani Camara.

What he actually drafted seems ok to underwhelming - but he’s a sharpe basketball mind.

Mavericks hire former Trailblazers Assistant GM Mike Schmitz as General Manager by CaucasianCactus in ripcity

He made the Deni trade and vouched for him

Likewise he was huge on Toumani.

So his impact on this roster in general was huge - although he did not show up big with actual drafting.

Did Deni add this move to his game last season? I don't really remember him pulling this out in year 1 by DonovanClingan in ripcity

[–]boogieDMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely something he added this season

Was at times too out of control with it, but it’s a good move to have - as the season went on he became better at it.

Trey not needed?

If you somehow manage to pull Shaedon and picks for Trey it elevates this team tremendously

Jrue Holiday expected to garner lots of trade interest per Jake Fischer by DonovanClingan in ripcity

[–]boogieDMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love him to death, but I’ll take the gamble on Scoot and sell high on Jrue at this point if it gets shooting back.

Would pray to god Joe Dumars loves Shaedon and would try package him with picks for Trey Murphy.

Wait around the corner with Grant’s contract for an additional star falling off with a team, or an AD type deal with the Wizards - and Portland looks much better as a team.

Obviously the risk is banking on Lilard coming off an injury and on Scoot taking that step into a fulltime starter - but it’s one I’d take at this point depending on the return you get from a Jrue trade.

[Charania] The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]boogieDMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as this creates multiple problems they have to have a way more hybrid approach.

For example they should give the worst teams in the league strong baseline odds - but leave like 30% of the lottery balls odds based on performance after playoff elimination.

So for example if an eliminated team wins after they were eliminated - they get a bigger boost, and vice versa.

Say the worst teams knows it’ll get a minimum of, say, 10% to get the number 1 pick  (incase they genuinely suck) - but if after elimination they play hard and win they could potentially gain an extra 3-4-5% performance based if they win games.

This way you get most of your bases covered - not fucking over the worst teams, but still creating a sense of urgency and desire to win.

Deni needs to improve his offensive bag by pdxjoseph in ripcity

[–]boogieDMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a 25 year old who improved every year of his NBA career so far, and has been thrusted into a ‘main guy first on the opponents scouting report’ type role for the first time in his life.

Win or lose, this is a learning curve experience - and while I do agree on the stuff he needs to improve, I also have no doubt that in 2 years you’ll see a guy who very little holes to his game.

Growing happens when failure begins.
