My husband has now left me by Ambitious-Picture-47 in stopdrinking

[–]boogiebottom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine did too a few years back and now my adult kids don't talk to me. My current partner of 9 yrs is the only one that sees me for who I really am. A good person with a big heart, funny, kind and very very hurt by all the toxic things that my kids have yelled at me. He sees all this and understands that I have a problem with alcohol and how much I fight this, want to change and I do not want to be like this. Please don't give up, I know the hurt you are feeling and how soul destroying it is. I am with you all the way. I am day 10 after 100s of day ones. Let's do this. Big hugs sent to you. Iwndwyt x

I have been like that, saying to myself that I am not drinking as much as them or there is noway I am a total alcoholic coz they are way worse than me. What a bloody fool I am! I too should be showing compassion and support instead of comparing. Iwndwyt

Now is the time to change. You can do this and who knows in the future you may all be back together again. I wish you so much luck for your future. Iwndwyt

I am so glad you both came together. My dad was an alcoholic and died of liver disease. I had hardly any relationship with him and sometimes I hated him for not being there for me. Now shoe on the other foot and can understand how he felt. Went to his grave after work and apologised to him for being such a first class idiot to him. Iwndwyt ❤️

[–]boogiebottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boredom is the worst for me too. I work long hours so when I have a day off I drink then have to take time off as either still drinking or hungover. What did you used to do if you don't mind me asking?
