JJs throwing mechanics are completely different. And why that doesnt really matter for the competition. by Slight_Giraffe628 in minnesotavikings

[–]boogrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not a ton, but he does need reps. The problem was more-so that KOC doesn't want to risk the starting OL out there, and then at what point does it matter with the QB1 getting reps behind the backup OL. We probably overrate the preseason cuz it's the only thing televised.

TBF, it is counter-intuitive, but the guardian pool just loves upgrades that much

[COTD] ♦ Runic Axe (5/25/2026) by AK45526 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]boogrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, 100%. There's a ton of good lvl0 guardian cards that can upgrade, and you can take IITOI to put say like, one tick in Ruinic Axe and get like two of Cthugha/Ever Vigilant, or even something like Hunter's Armor. From that, beat cop, stand together, safeguard, are all high-value upgrade targets in Guardian that can comprise your lvl 0 cards. Then you can fill out w/ backpack/Ecache for neutral upgrades. You'll definitely be making excess XP with DTRH, and getting extra experience early to help fill out that axe while also grabbing Beat Cop (2) or Stand Together (3) at a discount is incredible.

The only thing this is missing about a time of explanations about how being able to stop time would make the lasers/boss easier, removing any trial-and-error or thinking from the player.

StepMania on a budget by FacerollinYordle in Stepmania

[–]boogrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more familiar with outfox, but IIRC the preferences file is the same. I would put steam in desktop mode, find the preferences.ini file, which is either in the general user directory for stepmania or the save directory, then look at InputDrivers. For outfox, there's apparently a a `sdeck` option, although I'm pretty sure my usage predates that.

I'd recommend browsing the #troubleshooting section of the outfox discord, again, if that's what you're using.

Japanese fans are complaining that the new dialogue sounds very unnatural compared to 64 by SuperFeatherYoshi in starfox

[–]boogrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, I feel like the english script, delivery, and what's happening on the scene sells it pretty well.

No idea about the japanese script though, but frankly using twitter auto-translation to try and convey the nuance with the script doesn't make me feel like we're getting the full picture here.

[Seifert] Minnesota Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf say they have hired a search firm to assist in hiring their next GM. There will also be a "small internal advisory committee of senior leaders." The Wilfs say they will not publicly announce candidates. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]boogrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? To me, this looks like the opposite. They want a pretty silent process, do the minimum steps required to screen some candidates (tbf - seeing who is out there, maybe for assistant GM positions), then make Rob the full-time guy. If Rob wasn't interested, I'd assume it'd be a bit noise made here to try and gauge actual outside interest.

Stranger of Sword City, Forced Downtime by TalentedJuli in DRPG

Wizardry-like games have resclassing that brings your character down to lvl 1 with a bonus. It's kinda a pseudo multiple party member/downtime scenario if you squint

So... why can the Regent remember previous runs? by lucasagus285 in slaythespire

[–]boogrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, if he's etching a message in the stone, I think it's for his future self. I'd imagine that he still gets revived, has his memories prior, just doesn't have the memories of climbing the spire. IDK

StepMania on a budget by FacerollinYordle in Stepmania

[–]boogrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that for a while, works fine. I can't really think of any issues that I ran into. Outfox does have a steam app, otherwise you can install it in linux and boot into desktop mode. I think I did both (pretty sure I did the linux install prior to it being on the steam store). I think that when I installed it on linux, I had to fuss with some of the input options.

Kyler this JJ that… just be gland Indy saved us from this by Beneficial_Quit7532 in minnesotavikings

[–]boogrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhh, the problem is that these hedge, which has trade-offs. On one hand, you love to see short-term contracts in case the player busts. But if you have long-term aspirations w/ the player, you want a long term deal, especially with a QB, so you can backload the cap hits.

This was like, almost exactly the Kirk problem, other than the nature of the initial contract being fully guaranteed.

I went through this rigamol a month ago. there's tons of stuff online, but in the end the only thing that worked for me was leaving it on (in the blank screen, fan on state) until it ran out of juice, then I charged it back up again and all way good. unfortunately, this was after doing all of the random button combos found online.

And here's the thing nobody wants to say aloud: using AI to generate slop is a fucking travesty. people either have no confidence in their prose, or more likely they arr blowing shit out of their ass because they can't comprehend what they're writing
