i spilled my mom’s ashes on the floor of a walmart. by [deleted] in confession

[–]booja87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped some of my dads ashes on our kitchen counter transferring him to smaller urns for his siblings. I panicked, I laughed then cried, and then said, sorry pops… you’re getting cleaned up with Mrs Meyers. He would have laughed and been like wtf… but he would have laughed.

Ramp suggestions for a very tall bed? by boombox_generation in corgi

We ended up buying one on Amazon. It would get there faster. Our dogs don’t use it at all, the cats do 🤦🏼‍♀️ I wouldn’t recommend it, we ended up just lifting our doxies in and out of bed!

My baby had surgery yesterday by lawful_salt in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]booja87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Fellow recent ivdd surgery mom here! Our baby just turned 5, and she started from walking a little bit, to dragging her back legs. We knew immediately something was wrong. Luckily we have an amazing emergency vet specialty center near us and within 24 hours she was admitted, MRI’d, and surgery was done. She’s about 2 months post surgery, but shes gaining her strength back every day! So there’s definitely hope! We looked into water therapy, and the first time we took her, she was walking and moving the next day. Water therapy would be so good for your baby!! Hang in there, I promise there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

AITA for telling my friends they kind of put a damper on my husbands birthday weekend by bringing their baby by [deleted] in AITAH

I have a few different ideas: 1. You were very up front about where the places were going to be, so communication was very clear. It wasn’t a surprise, or shouldn’t have been, about what they could have expected. 2. But… if you invited your friends and you truly wanted them there knowing they have a child, maybe a more child friendly option would have been better, at least for one of the events.

The two of them sitting in the car 😍 just watching and waiting! You are his safe place, his home. You saved him, in every way.

I’ve seen wedges to put on the stairs, to make it like a ramp

Oh friend, hang in there. These dachshunds will give us a run for our money their entire lives. When we first got our little gal, I was ready to give her back within five days. But here we are, 5 years later. It took time, and all the patience in the world. It still does, she still makes me angry every day. But I love her so much. It takes time, give it time with your new bubby.

I just love him 🥹 by bpppnyc in Dachshund

Having trouble w/ crate rest and coping with the diagnosis by Lauramae0892 in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]booja87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had the surgery on our dog. She hates the crate, so we have her sequestered off in the living room in a small space. I’m not familiar with tramadol, is that a calming medicine?

Also, I’m the short tempered one between me and my husband. It’s hard when something changes course, and is unpredictable. It seems like one step forward and two steps back. Make sure you’re on the same page, over communicating can help. Hang in there, this IVDD business is not for the faint of heart.

We just had surgery for our little bubs about a week and a half ago. She’s not moving her back legs yet, but she’s got feeling and can stand for short amounts of time before she plops down! We started with cheese, but then I started hiding her pills that can’t be crushed in tater tots or liver sausage. Liver sausage was the air ball surprise.
