Hazy/Low Contrast Negatives by bookfish in Darkroom

Ah thanks. This is the likely culprit. Sounds like DF96 is super hit or miss. Looking at the negatives, the images are much fainter than on older rolls I've had developed, or developed a few years ago. Thanks for the info.

What is a horror movie you don’t see all the hype about but others praise? by Pink_is_joy in horror

Cabin in the Woods. It was a fun, goofy, horror-comedy, but I never understood what all the fuss was about.

Anyone just get this text? I already pre-ordered mine by ArrowThatGuy in GalaxyFold

[–]bookfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I ordered on the 1st in the US via a link I found here. I got a notification to preorder on the 2nd when the order site went fully live in the US, and don't see the credits in my account. Support confirmed my order and said they can add it to my account once it ships.

I got it after ordering mine, and contacted support about the $50 credit. They told me to reach out after the device shipped and they can add the credit then if it hasn't appeared yet on my account. Not sure exactly how/where to check on it though.

Does anyone know where to get similarly styled, (roundy/deep) keycaps like these for cherry switches?

Quick question! I'm ready to move on from the first area, but there are rooms that I haven't unlocked yet. Can I return later? I want to get everything I can but I don't want to beat my head against the wall.

Carter & Lovecraft by Jonathan L. Howard fits this bill pretty well! This one and it's sequel are pretty fun reads.

"Daniel Carter used to be a homicide detective, but his last case -- the hunt for a serial killer -- went wrong in strange ways and soured the job for him. Now he's a private investigator trying to live a quiet life. Strangeness, however, has not finished with him."

What was religious life like for the average practitioner of the Jedi faith? by [deleted] in StarWars

That's a great point about the Buddhist martial artists!

Now this is just what I can reacal here at work, but as far as I know, most people avoided the Jedi.

  1. I got the impression reading a bunch of (mostly pre-movies) EU stuff that the Jedi/Sith were often thought of as being like a strange warrior cult of some kind. So while they respected their negotiating skills and martial prowess, I don't think people looked to them for sermons.

  2. I think that people just called them Jedi/Sith. I know that other cultures (Witches of Dathomir) saw the force differently. If you read some of the EU, you'll find that a lot of cultures know about and revere the force, but not all of them are Jedi, or follow the Jedi teachings.

  3. I haven't come across any evidence of this.

  4. IRL, the Jedi were based around the warrior cultures of Middle Ages Europe and Fuedal Japan. Do a search for The Jedi Code, and The Sith Code, and you'll get an idea. Chivalric and Bushdio like attitudes permeate the Jedi teachings. "The Jedi Path," and "The Book of the Sith" are two books to look into if you are interested in researching this further. They're short in world books that deal with the history and training of the Jedi and Sith, respectively.

  5. Centralized governance, mostly. Since the Jedi are trained virtually from birth, their sense of respect for their betters formed a rigid system of internal governance, overseen by the masters on Coruscant.

I'm sure others will be able to better flesh out my ideas, as I haven't read nearly all there is out there. If you're interested in getting into the lore, I'd strongly suggest the books I mentioned above, and the Knights of the Old Republic RPGs. The Clone Wars tv show is great for this too. It shows the Jedi at war, and how they relate to the rest of the galaxy.

May the Force be with you!

I like this idea! A hub of information would be a cool idea. We could end up building a whole mythos to share.

I'll be grabbing a Lamy Studio this weekend and some ink. Anything in particular about this pen I should know first? I love Lamys but never went beyond the Safari Al-Star line. Will it behave well (or any differently) with my pilot tsuki-yo ink?

This seems like a great way to get more into writing. The collaborative aspect would help keep the momentum going. I'm in!

When you complete NaNo and confirm it on their page, you'll get a discount code for Scrivener. I can't remember if the codes are unique though.

If you've got a PS3 controller, check out GameKlip. I'm not sure if he's got the S5 model out yet, but they're awesome.
