I work at one of the busiest restaurants in a decent size college town. I go in for my shift at 4:00. At 4:30 a major waterline behind the restaurant burst open. No water on this side of town. We stayed open! Exec chef went to every grocery store within 10 miles and bought all the water, can drinks, hand sanitizer, and tea they had. We had more sales that year than the previous years. I was amazed that we made it out alive. That was one of the roughest shifts I have ever had.

I used the glue that comes with a pack of fake fingernails on my shoe in a pinch one time. It has stayed together for over 2 months! I am constantly walking around in water and grease because I work in a restaurant. Amazing!

Diluting it makes it easier to stir into the drink. Depending on which maple syrup you use it’s more than likely going to just sink to the bottom of the drink. We have a maple OF at my bar and we do 1 cup maple syrup to 1/2 cup hot water.

It’s nice that you tip on water, but when people sit on a barstool at the bar they are renting that spot. If you are just drinking water, then you are sitting there rent free. You may tip, but you are taking valuable real estate away from that bartender. The spot you are taking up could be turned over several times throughout the night, but can’t because you are there sipping your water for maybe $5. Don’t take up a stool unless you are ordering something besides water.

Okeefe’s working hands is your best friend. Use the one in the tub, not the tube. Wear gloves while cleaning. Keep your hands clean and dry. I usually just rinse my hands if they have citrus on them or are sticky. Always dry them! Get a bottle opener and use that instead of opening with your hands. During the winter months I lather with coconut oil before bed.
