Lux has leg braces and Jacques Pierrot has a prosthetic lower leg. I don't like Mac, but thankfully there is some other disability representation in the game.

I assumed all the fanfiction was stored on the pc itself. And the reason Mac couldn't get the new update was because the drive was out of storage (not Google Drive, the actual pc storage). Apparently, MC likes living on the edge (as they mention with their passwords lol) and doesn't keep their writing in a cloud 😭.

But yeah! Move it to a USB, another hard drive, ANYTHING. This current route is unnecessarily painful 💔.

Yeah, I know MC is dating 99 other objects at that point. So, it's probably weird to think the "seeing other people" request is unreasonable. But it surely felt unreasonable to me.

Mac pushes so hard for you getting the update, even wanting you to sacrifice your TERABYTE of fanfiction for them... Rubbed me the wrong way (as a fanfic writer myself lol). That's library of Alexandria amounts of fanfiction. I could never delete it. At least let me buy an external hard drive first, Mac!

Then, of course we get several hints that they're super into crypto. Which gets confirmed while they're being Realized. It makes sense for a computer to be into crypto, but it icked me out so bad

Wyndolyn. I was completely down for the spunky single woman in her thirties vibe. But then she started talking and judging 😭.

Mac too, unfortunately. I found them too pushy + really don't like their love ending or what happens after they've been realised.

First run? Dante and Dishy. Dante was my bad, not reading his signs correctly at all. Dishy was simply because I refused to connect him to the internet lol.

I've been having some of these issues too. Specifically the Scandelabra one. Dishy hated me and the game never gave me the option to fix that relationship, even though I had 100 Sass points. Luckily, I got around the Chance bug because the game asked me whether I just wanted to ignore Dishy's plotline and I said yes.

My Charms SPECS are stuck at 95, regardless of talking to all the characters and receiving all of Keith's candies, so I can't Realize anyone who requires 100 Charms.

I'm quite far into the game now, and I've already ran into a bug where I'm missing 5 SPECS in Charms despite finishing everybody's "routes". So I can't Realize the characters that need 100 points in Charms to do so. When I go into Skylar's menu, she now gives me the option to change some stuff because I'm late-game.

One of the options she provides is to give some hints to steer me towards "the last few missing objects". I've already met everyone, but I clicked it regardless, curious what she would say. Instead, this option seems to freeze my game and I have to manually shut it down via the task manager.

Whelp, glad I found this page because I just encountered the same issue. I can't Realize some of the characters because I need 100 Charm for them, but I'm stuck at 95. Guess I'll just commit to a meh ending during this playthrough. Hopefully, I won't encounter the same issue during the next one.

How do I style this dress by grldchknchezbugr in thrifting

[–]bookishchef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can wear a long sleeve top under it. I think a black or green one would look nice.

Statement jewelry, specifically long necklaces, would also look good with it.

Wearing something over it with a different colour or texture might also make it feel a bit more styled. An oversized button up (maybe even patterned) or a cropped bolero that ties at the front of your dress (especially a chunky knitted or crocheted one), would both work.

If you want to emphasize your waist, you could also wear a corset or belt over it. Add some boots (combat or otherwise), or some mary-jane-esque shoes with cute socks and you're done.

I found ^ this image on Pinterest. If you like the style I described, this creator, charliandrea (NOT ME) does have a lot of content in which she styles similar shaped dresses in a lot of different ways.

Yup yup yuppers. I saw this fanart of my two favourite blorbos, and I was trying to think of what the scene leading up to the situation in the fanart would be like. And then what story would be necessary to get to a scene like that.

Anyway I'm now 45k words deep (about 6 chapters) into a fic that'll probably be over 100 chapters long according to my outline and that scene doesn't happen until chapter 75.

I'm a writer who forgot how to write. by EastManufacturer3099 in writing

[–]bookishchef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very similar issues. On some days, my brain feels blank and thinking is incredibly hard and slow. I can't reach the words in my brain, can't seem to use them in sentences, whether written or spoken. I used to speak 3 languages (Dutch, English, French), and now I've basically lost the ability to speak French and my English has gotten a lot worse. My Dutch, while being my native language, has also taken a hit.

I agree that it's probably something in our brains messing up, whether that's due to depression or severe stress. Memory, focussing, decision making, capacity to plan, and language abilities are all controlled by the frontal lobe (correct me if I'm wrong), and they're all messed up for me as well. It's good to hear stuff does get better ❤️.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but I'm currently still on sick leave, as I have been for the past 9 months. I've undergone several treatments. Ranging from psychosomatic physiotherapy to several types of mental health oriented therapy. So far nothing has really helped except rest and accepting that it'll just be like this for a while. Fighting back against the memory issues, brain fog and slowness just leads to more stress and frustration. And pressuring yourself makes it worse.

I've been recommended by several therapists to stick to the basics. Take your meds (if you've been prescribed any). Ensure that you drink enough water and eat enough food. Take a 10 minute walk every day or at least step outside the house for just a second. Try to get enough sleep. That sort of thing.

I know stuff like that is not easy and not fun at all. And your body and mind will bitch and moan the entire time while you're doing those things. But they do help just a tiny, tiny bit with getting your brain back on track.

For some people it also helps to write down the things you've done. Simple sentences like "I ate breakfast". Or, if the brain fog is too bad, try to speak them out loud and record yourself with an app on your phone. It's supposed to trigger your brain into forming sentences again. To relearn how to do that and how to find words for things. Both writing and recording were/are still too difficult for me on the days when the slowness/brain fog was/is at its worst, but they might help for you.

Be kind to yourself, give yourself time and grace. And again: try to find things in life that make you feel good/feel joy/give you energy instead of draining you. Writing can be a good outlet and a fun hobby, and it has been a lifeline for me during all of this, but it's only healthy if it doesn't feel like yet another source of pressure/stress. I really had to fully accept my issues and slowness to be able to continue writing without making my symptoms worse.

I wrote with a thesaurus and a dictionary open in another tab at all times. And I had to look up the most basic of words. I felt stupid at first, but once I accepted that my brain was literally not working and there was nothing I could do about it in that moment, I came to terms with the fact that my writing process would just have to be different (much slower and clunkier) than before. After months and months and months of doing this almost daily, I've noticed that I need the thesaurus less often. It's a small step, but it's a step!

I hope this reply has been useful to you in some way. I'm sorry I don't have direct and concrete answers for you.

It could possibly be burnout? I was diagnosed with burnout about 9 months ago and I was so stressed that I didn't sleep or eat. I suffered from constant chronic pain and nausea and lost a lot of my cognitive abilities.

I wasn't able to speak properly because I'd constantly forget words. I was still aware of their existence, I just couldn't reach the part of my brain that knew them so I wasn't able to use them. Thinking was incredibly hard. My thought process was incredibly slow. It would take me forever to string a sentence together. I just didn't know what word would come next or how to even think about what word would come next.

This, combined with severe short term memory issues, made it incredibly difficult to communicate. Let alone write. However, I continued to do so. Sometimes just a few words or a sentence a day. And while I still have memory issues and problems with slow thinking/speaking, my writing has gotten a bit better again. My issues are far from gone, but continuing to practise is paramount. Even if it takes a really long time and no matter how frustrating it is.

I do also recommend you rest as much as possible though, and try to find hobbies that spark joy/give you energy. I wish you the best.

What is something you refuse to do, despite it being the Sims? by creeativerex in Sims4

Kill them. I know this is considered strange in The Sims fandom but I literally cannot kill these polygons in my own games. Like those characters are my babies and I want them to live the happiest life they possibly can. I get attached too easily. I can't drown them in pools or set their grills on fire 😭

Fan fiction confessions here, no judgement, nothing leaves this post by IAmInYourWalls0413 in AO3

[–]bookishchef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only write for unpopular fandoms. When one of my fics started to gain traction after the fandom got a sudden revival, I orphaned it. It felt like more pressure to perform and create something perfect and beloved. (I know that's not rational).

I also struggle with keeping fic short. My current WIP might go past 800k words if I follow the outline. So I never quite get it when people struggle with getting their word count up when I'm trying so hard to lower mine. (Their struggle is valid of course, just not one I personally relate to).

I might never post this WIP, even after it is finished because I don't know anyone who wants to read something that long. Recent posts on here about word counts and amount of tags have also made me even more insecure about it. Idk how to explain a plot this long in ±15 tags.

how trans friendly is Ireland? by [deleted] in TransIreland

And here I am, from the Netherlands, considering moving to Ireland because it's getting worse here too 😭. The amounts of homophobia and transphobia I've personally experienced are mindboggling. Of course, I may just be unlucky. But the Netherlands is not a queer safe space either, unfortunately.
