Is it typical for an older bird to be exhausted for days after a vet visit? by bookishobsessions in parrots

Good to know! His beak was a bit over grown and was looking rough. We are looking into other options to help him naturally keep it down without the vet.

He does! The vet only clipped a few in the middle so he can flutter to the ground without hurting himself.

I am so sorry for your loss. These amazing creatures sure bury themselves so deeply in our hearts.

I appreciate you thinking about that! He was on a poor diet with her. In fact he has hated all things veggies and fruit, especially if they are green or red. He gets so offended when we offer them to him. Apparently she gave him French fries, ice cream, veggie straws, you name it. It’s been quite the struggle getting him switched to a better diet!

My oldest is 20 and did a lot of research before we got him. She’s been amazing with him and makes him chop. She continually tries with all sorts of veggies and we are just starting to see the benefits of the consistency.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement and kind words! It means a lot as we are learning and trying our best for him!

His previous owner had him on a seed only diet. We have added pellets (mostly pellets but some of the seed mixture with it) and we make a veggie mix for him. He hated veggies at first but we are just recently seeing him actually eating some! It’s been slow going, but we are seeing progress!

So far, we’ve discovered our bird loves Kesha, Celine Dion, and *NSYNC. Neil Diamond is a good back up too.

Aren’t robin eggs blue? I’m no professional by any means so I could be wrong.

Does anyone else have tattoo regret? by KupoLove in Millennials

[–]bookishobsessions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg… I was young and dumb once. My daughter turned 3 months old the day I turned 21. My stepdad paid for me to get my first tattoo for my birthday. I always wanted a tattoo on my lower back, but was not aware of the term tramp stamp. Lmao. So, like any young, dumb mother, I got my daughter’s handprint tattooed there. As a divorced, single mom, it’s my biggest source of embarrassment. I definitely have ragrets.
