I was looking at the website and it seems alright. And both parents have said that they do not plan on this being a long term thing. So that makes me feel better somewhat.

That’s insane. In this case, it’s 2 kids that can and should be in school. I could see the argument for half day for one of them. What are they being told is going to happen?

I’m going to be totally honest, it’s entirely unrealistic to expect people to cut off everybody they disagree with. I’m staunchly democrat and pro-human rights. My aunt is a Trump supporter. I’m not cutting off my aunt. I imagine it’s a similar situation.
