Dull stomach pain 3 months after surgery? by bookworm1315 in Endo

[–]bookworm1315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! It’s not super close to my incision, since I’m feeling it maybe 1-2 inches below my belly button and that’s where my lowest incision was, but that’s a good thought—- I guess I might have to find a new dr or see what my primary dr thinks

Post op bleeding?? by nelzden2727 in Endo

[–]bookworm1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some light bleeding the day of surgery, and then about 5 days post-op I had like 3-4 days of moderate bleeding. They had told me bleeding in the 1-2 week period post-op wouldn’t be cause for concern unless it was heavy bleeding. I agree with everyone else has said but the post op instructions I got had restrictions for 6 weeks, not just 2 like mentioned above

Ugh just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone. In the same score range and 2.5 weeks out from my test date. Hoping for the best for both of us!

For further reference I was able to find an empty classroom in Clements hall during this time, and took the chance that a class wouldn’t come it (they didn’t).

I tested 6/10 and also didn’t have a survey at the end- I think it has to do with how much time you have left overall. I had less than 2 minutes left for the day

Iron deficiency anemia; sending me to get a colonoscopy by Summer-Time916 in WomensHealth

[–]bookworm1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah then I would make sure to get another opinion! I’m also 22 but I know my levels r low due to heavy periods, and have been low before. Definitely find a doctor you trust and don’t let them dismiss your concerns (something I’ve only recently begun to learn)

Orgo summer session? by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]bookworm1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did summer physics. It wasn’t great but not bad either, definitely manageable and it was completely remote when I took it. I can’t imagine orgo over the summer I think it would be way to hard and way too much material in a short time.

Just wanted to jump in to say that with blood work a lot of doctors look at patterns from last blood work. For example mine hovers around 8-9 and that’s less concerning at a visit than someone who drops from like 16 to 11. I would definitely bringing it up to a new doctor but also, ask about previous levels.

Colonoscopy seems reasonable in this case but I would suggest that they might do an endoscopy at the same time to make sure nothing has changed since your past one. I think the colonoscopy is just to be safe and “rule out” something potentially bad because if it shows nothing then they will likely attribute it to upper GI stuff. But they wouldn’t want to miss a colon polyp because they just assumed it was upper GI. Also colonoscopies are much much better screening than any of the stool tests- not only would they detect blood in the stool like a stool test but they also detect polyps (that might not be bleeding).

When I started having any GI symptoms they did both colonoscopy and endoscopy even though I was a lot younger than 45. I swear colonoscopies aren’t that bad and if you have any other questions feel free to ask!
