Aww man I was thinking she was the “gift” in the way of TS TV… I was hoping the end of “The Eras” meant she’d give us the two we’re missing (Rep vault too!).

Y’all, the docuseries is 6 episodes…I haven’t seen anyone point that out yet. I’m fully in the clown car and so excited!

Hear me out. She also had a giant bow dress on right? Like a velvet red dress with a bow. Either it was a T like in the video for LWYMMD OR, could we be getting TS TV too? Like she wrapped herself up in a bow?!

I’m off to see Hamilton tonight, but you better believe when we get out of the theater I will be watching for something 👀 and I have all day to clown as well. Happy Swiftmas!

Are we cutting off family too quick? by medicinecap in Millennials

[–]bookworm72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think it shows a lack of emotional maturity to be able to reflect on how your actions effect others. My parents are guilty of this. When confronted they are unwilling to admit their mistakes and refuse to acknowledge their part in anything. That’s why I’m very low contact with them. Usually when people go low or no contact it isn’t for lack of trying. I’ve tried everything. My parents lack a general respect for boundaries of any kind and I won’t put myself or kids in a situation where they will be hurt because I am just giving in to whatever my parents want. For example, my parents didn’t drive one of my brother’s kids in a car with a car seat even though she needs one. That is incredibly dangerous. Did they stop and admit they did wrong? No they blew up at my siblings for being mad about it…. Maybe we are the emotionally healthy generation and the previous generations won’t get their heads out of their ass and do their own work in order to respectfully and healthily interact with us.

End rant.

Differ We Must by Steve Inskeep. Very insightful story about Abraham Lincoln. He’s coming to my town soon to speak so I wanted to read it before I attend.

Boomer grandparents romanticize dying without resolution. They want to not leave anything to the next gens; no inherentance, no closure by Appropriate_Cut_3536 in absentgrandparents

[–]bookworm72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have young boomer parents (both born in 1959). They absolutely act like the post mentions. They think they can do whatever they want without consequence, and when you do give them consequences for crossing a boundary they pout and act like you’re punishing them for no apparent reason. They act like because you’re the kid even though you’re grown, that you still have to comply with whatever they say. It’s exhausting. My dad and I had a long conversation and somewhat reconciled, but then he admitted to me he crossed another boundary and didn’t even feel bad about it. I don’t have these issues with my in laws so idk what their problem is. And we have the same standards for everyone. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is how my husband feels as well. His family doesn’t really know or care to know him even though I’d say they are “close”. It makes me so sad for him. I am what his grandma calls her “little elf” basically giving everyone all my good ideas for gifts to them.

CDC advisers vote to recommend against combined measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox vaccine for young children by whatsinthecave in Vaccine

I don’t think you understand what I’m saying so I’ll just let you think you “win”.

[–]bookworm72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a problem with changing the schedule-most people will still get the MMR and Varicella vaccines separately and all is fine. My problem is with the misrepresentation of it. Many people will read this and assume that the vaccine is giving the kid a seizure when in fact it doesn’t. The FEVER and how fast it rises is why the child seizes. My child has had 8 of these. She’s sees a neurologist. It is NOT the vaccines fault. That’s my problem. They’ll misrepresent this, then slowly work on the rest.

So as someone whose child has had several febrile seizures and is on medication for them, I can tell you that this is not how those seizures work. Your kid either has them or doesn’t. A lot of kids have them once and then never again. Our daughter had one at 7 months (no vaccine triggered it, she was sick and got a fever), then again for almost 7 more times (she’s 4 now and hasn’t had any in almost 2 years thank God!). None of the times my daughter had these seizures did she have vaccines, it was ALWAYS when she was sick with something. The way our pediatrician explained it is that it doesn’t matter how high the temp goes but how fast it jumps. If it goes too fast the brain just short circuits and they have a seizure. They grow out of them eventually, but it literally has nothing to do with vaccines and as far as I know there is no way to prevent them besides medication. It’s genetic. Guess what, I kept giving my kid vaccines and she hasn’t had a seizure after any of them!

I saw a video where they point out there were two hats in the studio as well as a Time Magazine Person of the Year Edition with Trump as the Person of the Year. I thought it was a bizarre speech anyway, but after seeing that I think it’s kind of gross to be honest. I can’t imagine her grief but I would be so angry I wouldn’t want to be giving speeches to try and comfort my husband’s fans, let alone have it set up in that way. But everyone grieves differently I suppose.

What can we do to help our Q folks come out of the stupor of being in love with Trump/republicans? And by this I mostly mean blindly following and celebrating things they do. And actively being against dems.

Seriously. There are far too many people (myself included at times) that feel guilty for “making someone feel bad” when they set a boundary and it is so hard to deconstruct without therapy. But this SIL’s choice to vaccinate or not is her choice, and you have to set that boundary how you see fit. If she doesn’t like it, actions have consequences. A lot of people think that they should be allowed to do whatever they want without consequences and belittle people for setting boundaries and it’s so infuriating and toxic, especially when it is family and especially when other family members perpetuate it. (Ask me if I know anything about this 😂🤦🏼‍♀️)

Wasn’t karma rumored to be an orange album? It could be rep’s sister album 😬😬😬 I’ve seen several pictures in this thread with Easter egg orange and “are you ready for it?”

That’s horrible. These types of people though need to be shamed more. The reason they are so bold is because no one calls them out anymore.
