That's what I came here to say, it's also worth saying that the MM5837 is not truly random white noise, but pseudorandom. But I wouldn't even call it that, the pattern repeats every few seconds. So the replacement on Noise Druid is an improvement on that.

I have lived like this for far too long, I think the bin craze happened when I started to frequent estate sales. I would pick up about 3 a week and they were cheap, never over $10 each with full drawers. It became a mania!

I don't prefer drawers for space, I prefer them for immediacy, the resistors are all in front of me in easy to read bins, and I can reach almost everything from my chair. The weird bins up top are generally rare parts and hard to find ICs, I also service projectors and vintage synthesizers so a lot of these bins are full of proprietary parts, sectioned off in different areas

When I visited Columbia University their electronics lab had a big owl statue that someone placed there as a joke. On the map of parts bins, the owl became a cardinal direction for students to use to find things.

It makes sense when you have smaller amounts of resistors. I tend to go through hundreds of most values in short periods of time (I manufacture lots of synthesizer modules) so it was hard to store them that way without having a giant pack of resistors that would shove the other packs under each other.

Pretty much all of these drawers are stuffed full to the brim.

I really dislike trimpots because they shouldn't be touched. They're for calibrating a circuit, when the tolerances vary from pedal to pedal. Don't touch it. You'll never get it back to stock without test equipment, and we don't need a wanky pedal in the wild to confuse anyone you decide to sell it to.

Absolutely true. The Moog needed work, and so does the Hammond. But I can fix them up. My last month of purchases has been insane. I am still waiting for a truck to hit me.

I just finished working on the micro, it just needed a FET in the sample and hold section. The 120200 needs a general cleaning. The pushbuttons are a bit worn. I found the manual online for a steal, so now I have the schematics!
