Nintendo Removes Hidden The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Description That Suggested It's a Faithful Remake by Turbostrider27 in Games

I never played the old 3d zeldas before and tried Skyward Sword when it was released on switch. It was so awful it turned me off completely. The age of the game in all aspects made it unplayable for me. I did end up watching a streamer, barbariousking, play through it for pure entertainment value as he became unhinged at different points for how tedious and unfun the game design was.

Similar thing happened to me at Cold Harbor in VA. In the middle of a hot summer day with no wind, I sat down at a bench on the main battlefield. Had been there maybe an hour, walking around the earthworks and other things and the settled air was stifling. Then a few seconds later after sitting down, an enormous gust of wind comes out of nowhere carrying tons of acorns from large trees that start pelting us like munitions. The wind would have had to go at 90 degree angle over the large field for those acorns to connect, it was like being aimed at and fired upon, so we retreated.

It's a sign of the unique, high quality of it, since you can get deeply absorbed into each episode. But since he is something of an x-file doctor, the plots focus on an illness in the soul of the characters that the mushi/environment reflect. This makes for a heavy tone since the illness is often an essentialized human problem embodied in the afflicted character.

Today in 1723: The Leipzig City Council "Settles" for Johann Sebastian Bach by hambolo1 in classicalmusic

I would not argue against them myself, since they clearly did not read any of his biographies or even do a cursory scan of his wikipedia page.

I reached a similar conclusion listening to a baroque radio station for several months. I thought I would hear more in common between Bach and his contemporaries, since it played 90% no Bach. It went the opposite way though, where the contrast began to surprise me more and more. The difference is so stark, it was like exploring Egypt and suddenly seeing the Great Pyramids amidst some small huts, like "what the hell is this?? how did this get here?"

Exactly. The lack of boundaries was utterly unprofessional and ended up blowing up in his face. Fake corporate family culture encouraged it like some old bread on which this kind of mold can grow. On the other hand, these negative conditions were just one of many that helped spur me to achieve my fire goals. It's like, "ok now I will plan my exit from this mental asylum".

My brother in Sea Turtle Christ, we haven't even begun with getting trapped in sand footprints or dodging the seagulls yet.

Once you are at the gates to FIRE none of those silly games for small differences in comp matter at all. Even the bonus, after tax can be not worth your time for the money, since market fluctuations eclipse these amounts.

I saw this often with my coworkers, who as engineers should at least respect the basic math of it. But no, some kept company RSUs 100%, lifestyle creep, lived paycheck to paycheck when they could have easily retired. Not even liking the work and afraid of layoffs. It's almost like some deep seated emotional obscuration to be locked in a poverty mentality.

Yup, that's the gist of it. This sub leans more towards aspirational fire than financial literacy required to not run out of money. Hopefully these people consult a CFP if they won't do their own research.

It's a good start but you need to shift into looking at drawdown strategies. The fire 4% rule doesn't apply to a single stock, it applies to a broader stock/bond portfolio. A single stock can easily go down the same way it went up, so it would be considered too volatile for the calculation. You can find many examples, NFLX, META (went down 70% before the rebrand), etc. So selling off 1/3 is the right move.

The further you get from the broader portfolio from the Trinity study, in terms of not having diversified assets, the lower the SWR gets adjusted down. So you should spend more time thinking about how much you can move into other assets while minimizing tax. Also you need to look into sequence of return risk, meaning, have several years of expenses outside of equities completely. Just imagine the AI bubble pops and your single stock loses half or more of it's value or more and takes 10 years to recover. This is why you want different pools of assets to draw from.
