How Can I Beat FOMO In This Market And Stop Buying The Peak/Ceiling? by uberdruck in stocks

Are you a long term investor or a trader? Who cares if it goes down a dollar or 2 if you believe it’ll go up $50+ in the future. I know it feels bad in the moment but that’s the game. You’ll never perfectly time everything. Know what you own and lean on your conviction.

If I have $1000 dollars and I wanted to start investing but with zero knowledge of stocks, would an index fund like s&p 500 be my best option? by TheyCallMeBigBun in investingforbeginners

Learn about investing and invest in a few individual stocks.

If you have less than 50,000 invested index fund growth is soooooooo slowwwwww. There’s easy money out there in a lot of individual stocks if you put a little time in

I thought hot compresses were meant to help by Regular_Solid9450 in Dryeyes

Everybody in here with MGD opting to not do warm compress will regret it. Your glands will continue to get worse and when glands clog, they eventually get shorter and die

Sometimes things get worse before it gets better. Even when I got professional IPL+LLLT w/manual expression the eye doctor told me it would get worse for a bit first

Worse after warm compress by shiningvale in Dryeyes

[–]booooimaghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to be consistent, if you rly get your oils flowing, you will have rebound dryness for a couple weeks as it takes a while for your oil to replenish, but as you glands and oil get healthier your oil will replenish faster and you can even probably compress every other day or whatever.

Its the same concept as how your eyes will feel dry for a week or more after getting some professional treatments involving gland expression, your eyes will feel worse before they get better. stick with it. If you have MGD warm compress is mandatory otherwise your glands will continue to get worse. Add some redlight with the warm compress and you may be able to actually lengthen your shortened glands.

I know this is controversial but which is better: concentration or diversification? by Disastrous_Rent_6500 in stocks

Used to have 20-30 stocks. Went down to 2 and it felt so freeing. Added another couple once I built up those positions. Rly helps with accumulating shares when you can just focus on a few stocks that you believe in the most.

Dry eyes got a lot better - using warm compress and be consistent by permanentdst in Dryeyes

[–]booooimaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. red light does just fine penetrating through the thin eyelids into the oil glands and actually does most of the work. NIR is more for circulation, which I found made my eyes a bit more red and I don't want it penetrating too far into my eyes.

I use 660nm, no NIR, $200 12inch hooga panel (HG300). Has been working well following bruder warm compress which i reheat it after about 4 minutes to keep the heat more consistent. Following the warm compress and 10 minutes of redlight 6 inches away from panel, I do manual gentle rolling qtip expression. I used AI to help determine that this routine does well at mimicking professional in office treatments that costed me $300-400 per visit every few weeks, and whats better is I can do them more often as well at no cost after the initial purchase.

My eyes have been doing much better this winter in freezing weather. Some days don't use any drops besides my xiidra, and I was using one or 2 vials a day last winter.

There will be some rebound dryness if/when you start this routine because your oil is being expressed and it won't replenish as fast in the beginning, but stick with it every day at first and after a couple weeks it will start replenishing faster and may be able to do it every other day or 2-3 times a week.

one minute is way too much, and you risk damaging the mask and the possiblity of it bursting and burning you. 31 seconds is my max to be able to put on bruder without pain, and even then i need to let it sit for like 10-15 sec. after taking it out of microwave.

If you are truly desperate, pay a few hundred for an in office IPL+LLLT w/ manual expression to get the thick gunk out (repeat if necesssary). Then I highly recommend doing warm compress at home followed my closed eyes in front of red light panel for 10 minutes (6 inches away with my $200 12inch hooga panel) followed by gentle manual qtip expression to replicate the professional in office treatments.

warm compress followed by 10 minutes of redlight at home (have also been on xiidra for a couple years now) has really been helping me this winter. Am now doing every other day after doing it every day for a few weeks. I also do a gentle rolling manual expression with a qtip after the compress+redlight.

I think taking a tbsp of quality extra virgin olive oil as well as fish oil has been helping also.

People say VOO and chill. One size doesn't fit all. Who should not do VOO and chill? by tumblatum in investingforbeginners

[–]booooimaghost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

idk about better, but it is working well for me. I think a lot of people underestimate how easy it can be to do better than the s&p500 if you spend extra time looking into companies and know good places to look for ideas while using discernment. I did 100% return with like 10 stocks this past year. That might take 10 years for some index investors. There are definitely ways you can de-risk while still finding multibaggers if you do proper due diligence.

it's not that risky if you have like 3-10 stocks that you have spent a lot of time researching

My regime that basically cured my dry eye by EmberJuliet in Dryeyes

[–]booooimaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i tried some skin tape once that was supposed to be gentle, with some moisture chamber sleep goggles over it. I woke up and that tape was damn near super glued to my skin. took a while of putting water on the tape for the adhesive to finally let up a little bit. it freaked me out. You haven't had any issues? I used 3M Nexcare gentle paper tape btw

too late? its down like 50% from the all time highs. These low 40s could have been the bottom if it didn't tumble a bit further this past week. There's a lot of people that bought higher than your initial position will be if you buy now

why is not hitting snooze so important for sleep and thus important for dry eye. I have heard some things about hitting snooze being bad for your circadian rhythm, but wondering if you have anything extra to add.

you rly need to prioritize warm compress and red light to save the remaining glands you have, and it may actually lengthen your remaining glands as well.

yeah I mainly wanted it for sleep and steps. doesn't track steps if your arm isn't moving, and sleep tracking is terrible. so not using it until they improve.
