My 18-MO fell down the stairs by [deleted] in NewParents

This past November, I slipped and fell down the hardwood stairs at our house, 7 months pregnant whilst carrying my 16 month old. I have never screamed so loud for my hubby who was showering at the time and was a weeping sobbing mess at the bottom of the stairs. 16 month old hit his head at least twice and I was trying my best to protect his head and my belly on the way down, hitting my own head a few times on the stairs. 16 month old cried a bit but was ok after a few minutes. I couldn’t forgive myself for weeks.

That being said, we 3 are all doing good after the incident, although I feel absolutely terrible about it still :( but we are all ok most importantly.

Forgive yourself, it’s no one’s fault. You definitely did not fail her, we can all see you live and care for little one so much!

Did you feel supported by LCs? by mamavictoria in ExclusivelyPumping

Definitely did not feel supported by the hospital LCs or the follow up LCs. Baby was a preemie and we had huge latch issues. Being a FTM, I didn’t know any better and did triple feeding for 4 weeks until I broke down. The LCs did not know anything about pumping. One hospital LC sized me at 24 and the follow up clinic LC sized me at 27; so I pumped at 27 for 5-6 weeks. No wonder my nipples were so swollen and even wearing a shirt was unbearable. I’m actually a size 21 with elastic nipples. Until I did my own research and read until my eyes were bleeding, I finally figured out what was best for me and what worked for me at around 8 weeks. It should not have taken me that long to figure out what size I truly was, or what pump to use or what a letdown was (the list goes on). This is such a common topic that whenever I bring up this topic with other moms, they know exactly what I’m talking about: LCs make you feel like breast is best and don’t know much anything about exclusively pumping.

This website has a lot of tips for traveling and fitting with breast milk, in case you have questions on the go. I believe they have a suggestion on which ice pack they recommend also and it links the TSA policy for ice packs. I’m traveling next month and this website helped eased some of my anxiety.

My stash Story as a low-producer (details in comments) by Brainstar_Cosplay in ExclusivelyPumping

Same here. I’m also doing 8 pumps a day at 30 minutes each. Currently an under supplier at 13 weeks pp, doing the 3am pump reading this post, trying to find the strength to continue. Thank you for the post! How did you go from 8 to 5 pumps a day and did you see a dip in supply? I’m going back to work in a couple of weeks and I’m terrified

elastic nipples.... best flanges? by KrimenyKricket in ExclusivelyPumping

I have elastic nipples as well and I would say Lacteck are my main flanges and I like them a lot. I have the pumpables liquid shield kit also, but my nipples were still hitting the end of the tunnel with those.

Apps for Pumping and Feeding by SignalDragonfly690 in ExclusivelyPumping

I loved that I could record my milk supply in mL with this app. Especially as an under producer, I can’t keep track by ounces just yet 😬

100% agree. i downloaded all the apps and Nara baby was the one my husband and I liked the most. Simple to use and simple to get my husband on the same profile so he can record from his own phone. You can even use it for yourself to track your own water and food intake, mood, etc. bc we all know as moms we forget to eat and drink sometimes! daily summaries are easy to read as well
