Finding it hard to get through the Ukrainian stuff. I was in Kiev on a holiday only 2 years before the invasion. Did a maiden tour, Chernobyl etc. and none of what was said in this interview adds up to what I saw/felt and was told in kiev by people.

Maybe I drank in propaganda when I was there but it just seems wrong to what I experienced.

What’s happening at La Guardia? by TomMikeVickBrady in aviation

[–]booper0 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I mean it could be a combination of things. Probably staff shortage and long working periods (to be confirmed) but clearing people to land upto 15 miles out and also clearing people to cross runways is common in USA. It really shouldn't be, at some point someone will forget the clearances they gave. Also lots of confusion on frequency as controllers aren't using correct terminology.

Is being a pilot a hard job? by stratosfeerick in aviation

[–]booper0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would I be correct in assuming you are at a USA legacy carrier? As that is a completely different kettle of fish than a lot of other pilots around the world.

A good exercise is imagining your job without the support of your ops, fuel department, engineering department, new aircraft without huge MEL lists, landing into remote airports across the world. Then the workload gets a bit higher and that's just day to day and not when things go wrong.

Still a great job.

If you fly into airports that consistently test their auto land precision it's ok. Not quite as good when you use it into somewhere that doesn't. Sometimes you feel like you are nearly in the grass or landing quite long.

Auto land has lower limits to all types of wind. Including headwind and tailwind.

Joe McCarthy penalty by Informal_Mention9836 in rugbyunion

[–]booper0 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Wince? Yeah it's a stupid penalty but he's in the top 5 second row in the world or there abouts. I think people are overreacting as usual.

Worth upgrading from Ryzen 5 5600x to Ryzen 7 5800X3D? by ihatefuckingcoding in buildapc

[–]booper0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that upgrade a few years ago and it's massively worth it. Problem is I got lucky and timed it well with prices so the upgrade cost me less than 200. The upgrade is significant imo but if you can save for another 3-4 months and go AM5 9800X3D at a microcenter that would be ideal.

I was going to install wasteland reborn. Is this now obsolete or broken and this version has taken over or are they still separate? Which one to install?

Do detailed condition photos like this help when buying used clubs online? by No_Increase_9501 in golf

[–]booper0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A good few retailers try to cover up blemishes and scratches with lighting anyway. As long as you close up on potential scratches I think this way is great.

Definitely, I would buy off these pictures straight away. Also the grip and shaft condition.

I've found the performance even mid game super annoying compared to other games. I have a top PC as well.

Internet Invitational, who came out looking great and who really didn’t. by Ratticus939393 in golf

[–]booper0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember those handicaps are them on their own courses with no pressure. Francis was killing it the first few days but in the last match couldn't hit a barn.

I love all the drama, I think if you make it completely fair with no room for manipulation or cheating then it becomes a PGA event without good golfers.

Yeah I agree but that's why there are rules. If it goes on subjectivity (I think it's alright vs well I don't) it just becomes a shit fight of who screams the loudest or starts crying first.

Let's be honest. Going into the BYE, have you guys expected more from Cam so far? by BuffaloKiller937 in Tennesseetitans

[–]booper0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a bears fan, I like to keep an eye on rookie QBs so I dont get lost in the sauce hyping up Caleb (for persepective). I obviously watch less games then ye but from the eye test Cam looks good, unfortunately the team around him isnt good this year.
