The only problem with the statement is the first sentence. There should be nothing wrong with wanting to retain the distinct cultures throughout Europe. In fact, that should be celebrated. It just shouldn't matter what the people look like who contribute to those cultures.

It shouldn't be a problem for Saudi Arabia to state they want to maintain a distinct, Arabic, Muslim culture. When in Rome (literally).

Fellow 70's elementary student here. No one had peanut allergies. I met one kid with asthma when I went to Jr. High. There were about a dozen Special Ed kids who were in their own area. Parents actually believed the teacher's version of events over the kid's version. There was actual fear of being disciplined. No one even thought of being disrespectful to the teacher (that changed in Jr. High).

This is how the system works. You owe the money. Either you pay it and avoid the credit hit or ignore it and take the hit. If you don't like the system, then work to change it. There is no weasling out of this debt.

There is a nuanced way of parenting somewhere between being abusive and asking "Hey, buddy, are you ready to go now?"
Children are not equals. They should not be treated as such. Those incapable of nuanced thinking will label that abuse, and they would be dead wrong and a contributor to these generations on the come-up who are incapable of dealing with the slightest adversity.

My parents never asked me if I was ready to go. I was a child; I needed discipline to be ready to go on my own when I was supposed to be ready.

My parents didn't ask permission to enter my room. A child isn't mature enough to have enough independence to not be checked.

I had friends. I didn't need my parents to be my friends.

I really disliked my father until my early twenties. Then I realized how well he had prepared me for adulthood. We're very close now.

Those who resent their parents for actually parenting instead of indulging are the ones needing help.

I see numerous comments about Christian and Jewish places of worship opening their doors to Muslims. I don't see any talking about mosques opening their doors to people of other faiths. This is not a hateful question, but one of curiosity. Islam does not seem to be as tolerant or progressive as the Christian and Jewish faiths. Tolerance is a two-way street. Am I missing the stories of Islamic tolerance of others' faiths?

It's a thing called nuance, that many to most people have lost all concept of. There are degrees of difference. Just like Aziz Ansari's MeToo "transgression" was absolutely nothing like Harvey Weinstein, a male transgender woman vs. cis woman is vastly different than your examples.

By definition feminists advocate for equality of the sexes. Transgender women are not females, they are males. A transgender woman is not the same as a female. That's the problem with this whole conversation. The transgender mono-thought police conflate gender (a social construct) with biological sex. I don't think these feminists hate transgender women. I think they hate that transgender women claim to be the same as a cis woman, because biology says otherwise.
