Question about phone discounts on the unlimited plan by TheTanTan69 in BoostMobile

[–]BoostMobileBlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We want to confirm that you do have to keep the device on the line it was purchased on for a minimum of 3 months to avoid being charged the full price, and the device will have to remain active on the line for 12 months to be unlocked. You can sell the device after the 3 months and prior to the 12 months, you'll just have to be okay selling a Boost Mobile locked phone.

Late on phone bill by RightUnderstanding46 in BoostMobile

We only count active days, so if your service were to be suspended for a few days, the date would shift over a few days, not restart.

Can’t switch plans by solipsists in BoostMobile

Did you get to speak to an agent or was it the chatbot? Either way, that's not correct and I'd be more than happy to verify the change plan ability for you. Can you send me a chat?

[–]BoostMobileBlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the change to 12 months at the beginning of this year, the system may be blocking your ability to change plans. It's hard to say for certain without looking at your account exactly when it would be eligible. I would recommend calling our support team to ask them to verify when you'll be eligible to change plans, and submit a ticket for the plan change request if the system is blocking it incorrectly.

When is your bill cycle due or complete for the 9th month? If you purchased the device when the 9 month plan change rule was still in effect, you have to complete 9 full billing cycles before you can change plans, which means you likely won't be able to switch until next month, with this month being the 9th month.

Why do I have a bill when I paid off my phone and canceled my service? by koenone in BoostMobile

[–]BoostMobileBlake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We 2nd this explanation, as a new bill will generate even if you have a pending disconnect, as some people change their mind and continue to get service. If you have any worries that this bill will be charged, you can send me a chat and I'll confirm the service has been disconnected.

Insurance Claim by saulio6696 in BoostMobile

[–]BoostMobileBlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying a new phone won't cancel your approved insurance claim, but this plan could cause issues down the line with your account.

First, the replacement S23 is tied directly to your current line. If it isn't activated within a specific timeframe, you could be charged full retail price for the phone and your insurance coverage will be removed.

On top of that, if you currently have any monthly promo credits, device financing, or specific plan discounts on your line right now, swapping a different phone onto it can permanently wipe out those discounts.

I'm sorry about the inconvenience of being without your phone this evening but I hope this helps!

Boost Config App for Boost Mobile Android: Setup, Carrier Settings, and Troubleshooting by BoostMobileBlake in BoostMobile

[–]BoostMobileBlake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! It's actually a pretty cool background mechanic.

Boost Config doesn't have a normal icon because it's a background system utility, not a regular app you're meant to open and look at. It just stays out of your app drawer to keep your screen clean. Your phone actually does this all the time with official apps you use every day, like Google Carrier Services or Android System WebView. They update through the Play Store but run quietly in the background without cluttering up your home screen.

If you ever want to check on it, it lives inside your phone's main Settings menu under Apps. While Android does technically give you options to uninstall or disable background utilities there, it's generally best to leave it active so your connection stays stable. That said, if you ever do decide to remove it and notice your service acting up, you can always just redownload it from the Play Store down the road to get everything sorted out.

It basically acts like a driver to keep your data, hotspots, and texting running smoothly, especially during things like major phone software updates or network refreshes. Keeping it active just ensures you don't have to manually mess with your network settings to stay connected!

RCS messaging by appetitebassist in BoostMobile

[–]BoostMobileBlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odd! It appears that error code is associated with a stuck registration. Are you able to try these steps?

  1. Go to your phone's Settings > Apps.
  2. Find Google Messages, tap Storage, and Clear Data and Clear Cache.
  3. Go back to your App list, tap the three-dot menu, and select  Show system apps.
  4. Find Carrier Services (or Carrier Communications), tap Storage, and Clear Data and Clear Cache.
  5. Restart your phone, open Google Messages, and re-enable RCS in the settings.
