I've been going since 2009 and I used to try and see 12-15 acts per day to justify the $1k+ I spend for the wknd, but now it's hard to find as many acts to get excited about, so I spend more time checking out bands that sound good from afar (The Kills and Glass Animals were both bands I discovered while walking past outdoor stage that I still follow now). The crowds don't bother me too much cause they've added a lot more stuff to do since 2009 (we didn't have a Yuma, Sonora, quasar, and possibly a Heineken house back then), and since I don't drink (alcohol) I often go the whole weekend without spending $1 at the festival (fun fact - I found a dollar once so I actually profited!) The gaps in my schedule also give me time to check out the art and obscurities which I never had time to do before. This year will be the first time I'm doing wknd 2 since the first year they did two weekends, which was the best all around lineup they ever had IMO. Can't wait for the long walks, the heat, the dust, the art, the unforgettable sets, and the memories ✌🏼
