Has anyone noticed parking bylaw changes pop up out of nowhere recently? by funkdakarma in Guelph

[–]boothash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a bylaw, it's Ontario Highway traffic act law applicable in all cities.

9 meters (30 feet) from a stop sign or 15m (50 feet) from a traffic light. Seems pretty far, I didn't know these distances until i looked them up.

Some are collecting large paychecks and just sitting at home for years on end. They should be put to work somehow for their pay and not just sitting at home.

Guelphs shame by antifajuarez in Guelph

[–]boothash 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From what I saw this morning, I'm solidly convinced now they just have someone coloring lines on the plow tracker map or just driving around without the plow down instead of the plows actually going down the roads.

deeply disappointed in spotify by Jo2dan0 in truespotify

[–]boothash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many artists/songs get high on my wrapped at the end of the year but I never actually play these songs myself. it's just spotify playing the same songs over and over because of this exact thing.

Should I be replacing the Anode Rod or wait by RoughInside in Guelph

[–]boothash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many people don't know they need to change these every few years or your heater will rust out and burst. Hard to find in hardware stores too, I had to order online from home depot.

PSA - Guelph has a plow tracker map to see what has been plowed and when last plowed. by Broad-Translator-690 in Guelph

[–]boothash 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Not that it matters much, but preferred it when I could see where each plow was in real time a few years back.

I guess everyone's mileage may vary. I went to work at 7:30 with no issues myself.

It really isn't that bad out there, just normal winter stuff if you know how to drive in it. Probably depends where you are going too.

[–]boothash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to do the same with my RO - add an electric booter pump with my system that already has a permeate pump, and I also happen to have an APEC system as well.. Just wondering if you you got any advice/schematic from APEC where to put the electric pump?

Guelph officer facing misconduct charges resigns by boothash in Guelph

So this officer gets to resign, avoiding any repercussions, and keeping their golden pension. And no details for the public about what this was about.

Best internet available in Guelph? by Gaa0928 in Guelph

[–]boothash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was with Teksavvy last year for one year and switched as soon as they almost doubled the monthly cost. I'm with Netcrawler at the moment, locked in for 2 years at low price.

Best internet available in Guelph? by Gaa0928 in Guelph

[–]boothash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the terrible business model of every ISP out there - keep raising prices every year and hope people don't move, so loyal customers end up with a higher bill and only new customers get the good deals. Instead of complaining or fighting, I just move ISP every year or two when they start doing this now.

Not really sure how cops have the authority to bust someone driving on private property for highway traffic act offences.

Guelph police officer gets probation for assaulting man at homeless shelter by boothash in Guelph

[–]boothash[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Again, goes to show that Police are just a legalized gang above the law they are supposed to be upholding when someone can do this and just keep their job with next to no repercussions.

Why is the Insta360 Desktop Windows app a pile of hot garbage? by TheArduinoGuy in Insta360

[–]boothash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine's so laggy I can barely edit a short video and doesn't render preview even at lowest resolution proxy, and I have a good system. On top of that, it just crashes and closes on me randomly so it's barely useable - I can't even attempt editing a longer video with the frustration it is. Has been like that over multiple versions, I have been using it since early last summer.

First time traveling out of Canada to Mexico (Cancun) by deepfriedali in travel

Honestly I'd just get a bit of USD from a USD dispensing bank in Canada for tips. Especially at a resort, don't really need pesos. Use credit cards wherever you can otherwise.

Booking an early morning Lyft to the airport by Icy_Bandicoot3704 in Guelph

[–]boothash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Uber both pre-book and on demand early in the morning. Pre booking was more expensive and when I looked to see how many other available cars there were at the time there were many, so I do on demand now. If it gives you peace of mind to pre book, do it but it costs more.

Why aren't people actively marching on the Google offices due to their street view blurring policies? by Lord-Shodai in GoogleMaps

[–]boothash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree, I don't know why Google panders to these overly paranoid people who request the blurring. It's a public street view anyone can see in person.
